As the cast gathered for the Southern Charm Season 10 reunion, host Andy Cohen greeted JT Thomas, “Hey, JT!” Meanwhile, one of his castmates commented, “I’m surprised he’s here.”
But JT just kept moving on, insisting he was feeling “great” and that it was “good to see” everybody. It doesn’t seem like his co-stars were so glad to see him, though.
Following his sometimes odd behavior throughout the season, especially his treatment of Venita Aspen, it’s safe to say that JT isn’t the most popular guy in the group.
JT Thomas explained why he quit at the Southern Charm Season 10 reunion
“Last I saw, you quit the show,” Andy quipped.
“Yeah, my inner bitch, um, had a moment,” JT answered. “I was able to successfully, today, tell it to . . . quiet down, I’m sorry,” he continued.
“Your inner bitch comes out a lot,” Season 10 newbie Salley Carson pointed out.
At the end of Season 10, viewers learned that JT and former bestie Venita started dating two months later. However, the relationship didn’t end well. Venita unfollowed JT on social media, and they hadn’t spoken to each other until the reunion.
“There was one relationship this season that had … tongues wagging,” Andy said. “The ‘almost couple’ no one saw coming: JT and Venita.”
“There were whispers … that the two of you were hooking up,” Andy added. “Why keep your girlfriend a secret?”
This is where things got really awkward, as JT seemed unable to complete a sentence. “Yeah, we knew … we knew about … we knew,” he sputtered. “You knew I had a girlfriend the whole … that off-camera, I had a girlfriend.”
Clarifying the timeline, Venita shared that when she returned from vacation in September, JT said he was no longer seeing the other woman. That’s when they started dating “damn near every single day,” Venita said.
After the season started, JT’s other girl began sending Venita hate messages. She asked JT to “do something about this.” But when he refused, that’s when Venita knew things weren’t exactly kosher.
Ultimately, when JT’s version of the story differs from hers, Venita trots off to her dressing room to get her phone. She’s got receipts, and she’s not afraid to share them.
As the cast waited for Venita’s return, Andy foreshadowed, “I have a feeling it’s about to get worse.”
