Just when the case of Blake Lively
seems unable to get more out of hand, the donuts get involved. Somehow, what began as a serious set of allegations about mental abuse and sexual harassment first degenerated into a public tit-for-tat set of he-said/she-said contradictions involving partners, colleagues, and news publications, but has now seen a Connecticut donut shop becoming the center of a controversy that is almost too comical to believe. But, here we go.
Late last week, Lively rocked up to Rise Doughnuts in Wilton to take part in a strange PR stunt that she shared on her social media accounts, in a video showing her making donuts at the shop. She wrote alongside the video, “Backing with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car. This is what my happy place looks like…”

Blake Lively Turns to #MeToo Law in Latest Twist From Justin Baldoni Defamation Lawsuit
Blake Lively is seeking to be dismissed from Justin Baldoni’s $400 million NYT lawsuit.
While this all just seemed like another run-of-the-mill celebrity appearance for social media attention, which it received, what it ended as was a chance for those who are not exactly playing for Team Lively in her ongoing legal disputes with Justin Baldoni to somehow believe that the best way to respond to this was to lodge a wave of complaints against the donut shop with the Wilton Health Department. As reported by TMZ, complaints of Lively working in the company’s kitchen without the appropriate hairnet in place saw an investigation being launched into the business.
How Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuit Almost Shut Down a Donut Shop
Following reports of Lively posing a health risk by working in Rise Doughnuts’ kitchen without a hairnet, potentially distributing strands of her blonde hair over the glossy sweet treats like sugar strands, Wilton Health Department were required to visit the establishment to ensure that “disgusting” and “unsanitary” practices were not being carried out on the premises.
Of course, Rise Doughnuts was cleared of any kind of breach of rules and regulations, and the whole thing was just a waste of everyone’s time – some would possibly say the same about this whole article, but you’re reading it. However, that was not quite the end of the story, as, along with their unexpected visit from the Health Department representatives, Rise Doughnuts also saw their high rating on Yelp take a battering as supporters of Baldoni decided that what the lawsuit needed to give it a leg-up was some negative reviews against a bakery establishment after Lively’s visit was publicized. Yelp has since added an alert noting that Yelp’s support team are “monitoring” the page and will remove any reviews that seem to be linked to the media coverage of Lively’s appearance there.
The media circus surrounding Lively and Baldoni’s public lawsuits just continues to grow, and now that all the serious news seems to be out of the way, we are left with donuts and trolls reviewing a donut shop as the dregs of a situation that is still months away from being resolved. Stay tuned for Lively’s visit to a laxative store.
