Bruce Campbell Jokes About Evil Dead 2 Toy Set And Internet Goes Wild

The legendary Bruce Campbell, aka Ash Williams, has posted a really funny tweet regarding a toy set based on Evil Dead 2. The tweet said, ‘be able to cut off their own possessed hand and rid the world of evil,’ and it was like a bomb explosion-some were excited, some confused, and some downright angry.

The tweet was attached with an AI-generated image, which looked something like a playset for Evil Dead 2, comprising a tiny Ash figure and a creepy cabin. Campbell’s caption was indulged in the absurdity claims made in it, calling it ‘fun for the whole family.’ However, even some of those who are for this idea said that in such a way obviously it was so AI-generated and that did not resonate well with them.

“Ash does it come with life like necronomicon and/or boomstick?” was an impressive answer from user Dyne322, a direct nod to said crazy franchises’ items. G8RTHEH8R bluntly said ‘Oh great I fell for AI. Whatever’ and another one with the name BreadedScampi joked saying ‘Bruce I love you but we going to have to realize this at some point and take your computer away’.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more nostalgic, G8RTHEH8R chimed in ‘It’s kind of crazy that kids in the 80s had toys made for movies they really shouldn’t have been watching’. “One of the funnest things about the 80s was kids having toys for movies they had no business watching like Evil Dead or Rambo Part 2 lol.” This opened a whole thread about how really weird it was to see R-rated movies sold with kid-friendly merchandise. As Aktivarum pointed out, “Considering Rambo originally is a very serious story about PTSD… it’s truly a bizarre thing to make a kids cartoon about him.”

On that note, some fans are just here for the chaos. This was what homeboyJanky demanded, ‘Fk yeah… but where’s the S-Mart shotty or Necronomicon?’ There is also RobbieFleen, who simply declared, ‘I want one!’ But CamStiq wasn’t impressed. He called Campbell out on supporting ‘AI slop,’ while B0stonBandito flat-out said, ‘Come on… AI sucks man. Don’t do this.

The tweet even got love from abroad. With Robert Holzstein commenting in German, ‘I would buy that’ before there was inevitably a translation. And then, of course, the classic ‘Shut up and take my money’ one from MarcusPheonix, because of course it was going to happen.

At the end of the day, Campbell’s tweet did what it was supposed to do-get people talking. Loved it or hated it, or just wishing to reminisce about strange ’80s toys, the interwebs had a lot to say. And honestly? That’s kind of groovy.

So probably not. But that short while saw Bruce Campbell convince the internet-a laugh at the notion-in an actual reality where Evil Dead 2 would never have a playset. And that’s worth something, if only for one more day of chaos in the occult horror fandom.
