Dwayne Johnson has just gone online to share one moving message with anybody and everybody about his return to the island of Maui, and in this occasion, the web has flared up with comments. He delivered a very heartfelt update on the situation in Lahaina and the island of Maui, declaring that though the fight continues there are no more headlines and news coverage about it. So much pride and resilience go behind those words and definitely a call to keep supporting the community. And right on cue, people had A LOT to weigh in.

First, Johnson cut to the chase. He then stated directly that his job was basically to make sure that Maui is not forgotten and to try to spread whatever joy and comfort he could. And he is right-disasters don’t get reported in the same news cycle, but the hurt doesn’t really go away. He called out the strength of the Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) and Polynesian culture before signing off in classic Rock-style: “We protect. We love. We show up.”
Well, the reactions were every kind of awesome. Pure love: Emzambias said he’s a talented human being who just flows naturally. Then Sylvia J got liturgical about it, suggesting Johnson might be “God’s chosen.” Uh, alright then. RippaGuy808 kept it simple with a “never forget” and a link to a fundraiser. Respect.
There was less love, though. ThomasAZ88 called him out on the whole Oprah business with the Maui fundraiser. Oof. And ThaWarMachine came right out with the accusation that the whole thing was a setup. Harsh. Imi_1993, who-wait for it-asked The Rock for 0.1 BTC to pay off his debt. Bruh.
But those were the brighter ones. Andrew Borix was asking why did Johnson grace this universe with a brown heart emoji instead of red. Deep thoughts! AReveal56064 was screaming something about him not appearing at WrestleMania-he ought to keep those-championships, you know. Priorities, right?
General vibes? Mostly positive. BagzMetaX said, “God bless Maui,” while Upgr8dedMoney said we are all connected. RB-The Peace Coach was more succinct: “I like this gesture, Rock.” Good ones deserve that.
So at the end of the day, this message is a stark reminder that Maui is in mourning and that its people need help moving on. Be it love, the drama, or The Rock being The Rock, one thing is clear: he is not letting this issue fade into the background. And truly? That is really damn cool.

So, yes: Maui, like The Rock, is staying strong. Cheehoo, for sure.
