Drew Binsky is an American blogger known for visiting every single country in the world. He boasts 5.26 million subscribers on YouTube, where he shares videos of his global experiences. In a recent video, the traveller decided to reveal his favourite country in Africa. The continent, which is home to 54 countries, boasts an extraordinary number of stunning and diverse destinations to visit. However, Drew, who has visited every corner of the globe, will certainly know a thing or two about what makes a country a great place.
“Today, I’m gonna do something I’ve never done before. I’m gonna rank all 54 countries in Africa, starting from my favourite all the way down to my least favourite,” he says. He continues by teasing viewers that he will be revealing the “ups, downs and everything in between” while sharing stories of his travels around the continent, as well as advice for those planning on travelling to Africa.
Out of all the destinations, the country Drew hailed Tanzania as the best on the continent.
“I’m currently on my fourth trip to Tanzania, and I cannot get enough of this place. Right now, I’m chilling with the Hadzabe Tribe. Somewhere in the northern central part of the country. They’re the coolest people ever.”
The video then displays several of Tanzania’s stunning landscapes as Drew boasts that the country “really has everything.” He highlights places such as the Serengeti National Park, which is home to an immense number of animals, including over two million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and approximately 500 bird species. It is also a World Heritage Site.
He also mentions the Ngorongoro Crater, another World Heritage Site, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caledra. Drew added: “I’ve never seen a crater in my life that’s this big, I mean it goes on forever.”
The beautiful country is also home to the world’s tallest freestanding mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Victoria, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, and the Zanzibar archipelago which has some of the most breathtaking beaches across the globe.
After listing all of the countries assets, Drew went on to share his favourite place in Tanzania – a city called Arusha and a “small” town called Moshi which he describes as “lively” with “a lot going on.”
As he draws an end on his Tanzanian segment of the video, he concludes with: “I’m telling you guys if you can only visit one country in Africa, let it be Tanzania. People are friendly. It’s safe. The streets are clean. There’s no scams here. Everyone’s super nice. They speak English. You will absolutely love it.”
