John Leguizamo, a top actor in Hollywood, has become the news for something other than acting. Now a 63 year-old man has put out a video that is now in discussion for all the wrong reasons. It features Mr. Leguizamo in a bizarre tirade against Trump supporters, telling them to burn their MAGA hats and repent for their vote. But apparently, more controversial than that is his appearance. Some are even saying that he looks like he aged a hundred years in one night.

The video shows Leguizamo looking exhausted; really tired. His hair turned white; his face grew gaunt, and it was giving out weird vibes. The people in the replies didn’t hold back. Also, bluntly stated one user, “He looks downright unwell”; while another quipped, “He must be running low on his adrenochrome.” Ouch! Comment section took from 0 to 100 in a blink over everything ranging from his looks to politics.
This isn’t all about looks, though. The people’s fuse had blown with his rant. Some referred to him having a “psychotic episode.” Others said he was “reading a script.” One of the really shocked replies even wanted him arrested for treason, which was a bit extreme but, hey, that’s Twitter for you. The concern trolling married itself to sincere amazement, like when some sassy commenter opined, “This from the pest,” in reference to his role in Super Mario Bros. Burn.
Most amazing were all the replies actually focusing on his physical metamorphosis. “Should never mix hate with vax. It ages you fast,” someone said. “Research needs to be done on TDS in relation to aging,” another wrote. If you’re not an internet junkie, TDS stands for Trump Derangement Syndrome. The internet keeps changing ways to read people, composing new offerings.
Meanwhile, believe it or not, some comments on this dude actually sounded worried-a sad-face emoji in one of them writes: “I liked u.” On the upside, most replies fronted quite mockingly to outright hostility, though. Perhaps the most beautiful insult of all must be “Celebrity opinions are as important as toe jam.” The others just kept it simple with clown emojis and “OK grandpa!” energy.
Questions on celebrity activism abound, yet they all go online. In such a manner stated one reply: “Why do we listen to celebrities with problems far removed from ours?” That’s the real tea, right there. Today, celebrities shout online; it is mostly revved beyond reasonable expectation or not effort at all, thus the internet will not let them live it down.
Some called for bigger political talks about the situation. User One queried, “Why are Democrats so deranged?” Another commentator, too interested in the vents of correspondence, added, “being a hate-filled DemocRAT.” So much polarization for those replies, but most of them simply confounded everyone about Leguizamo generally. Commented one user, “Wow what kind of addictions did he pick up,” perhaps insinuating that drugs would explain his appearance.
Well, another case of a celebrity talking too much online and then regretting it. How ever one may feel regarding him, one would say that the way he composed his accusation was a choice. And the netizens are sure to have a lot to say about such choices. Replies show that when celebrities go off the rails, especially in a state that seems so altered, people notice. They comment. They meme. And, in this case, they dragged him over the coals.

The irony is that these viral moments generally concern pretty much everything except the original message. Leguizamo was just trying to make some political point; that was obviously not being entertained: what was being entertained was how he acted in front of that camera. This is what social media does-bestows surface reactions that drown out substance. Whether this will sink his career or just become another eccentric celebrity spectacle remains to be seen. Undeniably, the internet does not forgive.
