Rob49’s “WTHELLY” arrived two weeks ago (on March 21) and the title of the viral track has taken over social media. Justin Bieber even tapped in, and it seems everyone can’t stop saying “WTHelly.”
TMZ caught up with the New Orleans rapper earlier this week, who explained it was just something he and his friends came up with, so he put it in a song.
“It’s something that my partners came up with in New Orleans,” he said. “We just be saying it, so I put it in a song.”
LeBron James is always showing love to rappers and their music on his social media accounts, and Rob hopes that the Lakers superstar hops on the “WTHELLY” train at some point soon.
Rob name-drops King James on the track along with other celebrities such as Halle Berry and Miley Cyrus. “What the helly, Berry/ What the helly, Burton/ What the helly, ‘Bron James/ What the helly Cyrus,” he raps.
49 posted DMs with Justin Bieber quoting lyrics from the track alongside clips of Wiz Khalifa, Soulja Boy and more singing along to it.
“Bad Hoes give me Becky,” Bieber messaged Rob49, who replied: “Wthellyyyy WtBieberrrrrr.” 49 also asked the pop star about linking up while they were both in Los Angeles, but it’s unclear if they eventually met. Maybe Biebs pops up on the inevitable “WTHelly” remix.
While “WTHELLY” has gained steam on social media and the visual boasts nearly one million views, the Sheldon-produced track has yet to crack charts like the Billboard Hot 100 or Billboard‘s Hot Rap Songs.
