Kate Middleton and Prince William took a break from the hustle and bustle of their official engagements to bask in a quiet moment. The couple marked their 14th anniversary with a scenic photo that appeared to be on the shores of an island. The picture showed them standing sideways with their arms around each other in a hug, soaking in the magical backdrop as well as each other’s company.
The Prince and Princess of Wales wore coordinated fits, presumably for their official visit to the Isle of Mull in Scotland. The photo, which was also distributed on their social media, came with a personal message from the duo. It read, “Wonderful to be back on the Isle of Mull. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome.” They signed the caption with a red heart emoji and the letters “W & C,” which stands for William and Catherine.
Prince William and Kate Middleton met in 2001 when they were both studying at the University of St Andrews. The couple, who were friends initially, began dating later on before they briefly split. Eventually, they rekindled their romance in 2007. They announced their engagement three years later and tied the knot in a grand ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
According to BBC News, the couple’s stay in Scotland will involve them touring the island for over two days. They will be paying a visit to the community halls that will be renovated with help from the Royal Foundation. This visit also marks the first time Kate Middleton will be undertaking an overnight stay for an official engagement since her cancer treatment. She announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, and in January this year, she offered the good news of her being in remission.
