Pierre Poilievre Blasts Trudeau’s Economic Record As Canadians React

Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party, has just brought out one of the most scathing tweets against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s economic policies, and the replies? Oh my, chaos really is the only way to describe it, fully supported and completely roasting. In it, Poilievre noted that since Mark Carney has been an adviser to Trudeau, per capita income growth in Canada has been declining when measured against the G7 nations. He urges you to vote Conservative to “release Canada’s complete economic prowess.” A classic case of No Sale.

Well, let’s first dissect the tweet. Poilievre’s premise is that he thinks Trudeau’s economic management has failed the Canadians, and Carney’s appointment or association made things worse. However, Carney really never was an economic adviser of Trudeau; he made a passing comment about the matter at an event, and for that, according to Poilievre, the economy was finished? Other people are not buying it.

Solasta rebutted quite eloquently: ‘Poilievre sure knows the best way to lie & evade answering questions. Mark Carney was not Justin Trudeau’s financial advisor.’ Meanwhile, Lesley Peterson had her own two cents to express: ‘Are you crazy? or just lying? Canada has the fastest-growing economy in the G7 this year.’ She even slipped in a little dig about him not having as high clearance compared to Carney.Well, that hurt.

A few even would offer support for Pierre Poilievre. Wastedcanadian replied to a different user, ‘He’s one of the only people who speaks the truth.’ Darryl Williams added, ‘When we needed growth, they gave us regulations. The only jobs created were civil service or related jobs.’ So count that one as a weigh-in on the divisive scale.

The opposition, along with the dynamic #NeverPoilievre rallying cry, is, as always, not lacking in subtlety. Alice Veerman tweeted, ‘Never ever! #NeverPoilievre #NeverVoteConservative. I think that is enough nevers to make my point!’ Ana added with a water drop emoji, ‘Sorry, NOT sorry 🙂 But we can’t afford a single second of you as PM. #neverPoiLIEvre.’ Heck, strong hashtag game, there.

Others took the opposite stance. Pam Pugh raised the issues of Canadian farmers harmed by the export fiasco to China: What is that instead of tweeting, Poilievre was going to do with fixing it? David Olinger began tweeting receipts asking, ‘Who advised this spending?’ and subsequently posted a graph. Now that was old school.

Then, out of nowhere, maybe the strangest of the insults came forth: SupriyaAdh22841, “YOU YOURSELF STOP SUCKING UP TO KHALISTANI TERRORISTS.” What? Just like that? Out of the blue.

Then, you got some users who feel it all got a little old. Wandering pen. “Remember the good old times when it was all Trudeau.” Welcome to easy times.

Where does this lead us? Certainly, it started a lot of talk with Poilievre’s tweet, though not all favorable for him. Some back him up and others think he is speaking complete nonsense. The argument continues, and this whole concept will not be wrapping up shortly. With the next elections fast approaching, these tweets are just the opening act.
