Ryan Seacrest Teases American Idol Return With Mixed Reactions

Well, Ryan Seacrest has cried out the hype with a fresh tweet on ‘American Idol’, and the replies are trending all across the corners of social media. The host tweeted a very simple yet effective tweet along with a picture of him with judge Carrie Underwood: ‘#CUonIdol next Sunday/Monday!’ But the Internet had that huge capital letter “T” Thoughts.

First, let’s look at the good notes. Some fans showered love on it, like this user, Jj shai: ‘Some of the singers are phenomenal. And Ryans cute too! Him, Carrie, Lionel + Luke and all the people that do not get the recognition for setting up the show behind the scenes.’ A whole bouquet of roses and flowers emojis, because why not. Or Jessie Puccino, who almost said that the show ‘keeps getting better and better week after week.’ Optimistic! Love to see it.

But then, there was the other side of it all. Karenwaldorf2 came in going “racism”—whoa, that got intense fast! No context here, just vibes. Going for rather cheap shots was Josh Thee Impaler who got after Ryan’s looks calling him a ‘plastic doll. Very cold but somehow funny if that is your kind of thing. Then we have Arnold Francis ordering, “Seacrest needs to go and take Lionel Richie with him.” Ouch. Someone interested in an audition show judging panel must have been hurt.

That was pretty easy to read into the political views on it, because Chris Ward threw in a #MAGAFACE reference about Carrie Underwood and rmpbklyn replied, ‘too bad she maga am supporting this.’ Ugh. Then the religion angle that the show took also had some people arguing, as Pam Suveizdis was ranting about how the media doesn’t properly cover much beyond the ‘over 1 billion votes.’ Christine Bhagat had a love for the ‘songs of faith’; someone was happy.

Then came the complete randomness. A user just asked Ryan if he was tired with a sleepy emoji. Pretty deep. Netta Rose then went off on a 10-minute rant about Canadians trying out for American Idol when they ‘can’t get votes from their country.’ Very niche complaint, but hey, it’s Twitter. And Tim VwVoyager cryptically asked, ‘Do you know who that is?’ Regarding… somebody in the photo? We may never know.

Not all, of course, were in favor of the show. The Manch declared it as ‘pathetic’, as compared to last year. Cliff, on the other hand, went straight for the jugular; he ‘can’t support ABC Network’ since ‘it’s just too out of touch.’ Meanwhile, ‘Jacki Is An American Patriot’ (that’s their name) criticized Ryan for showing ‘ANY emotion’ while watching the performances. Tough crowd.

But at least Frederick Husar kept it simple, happy-day, go kids go. Some times, just appreciate the uncomplicated positivity. Oh, and suzette nibblett? Well, she just said, ‘Nice photo.’ Sometimes, that’s all it is.

What then is the lesson? Well, American Idol still spawns talk-loves or hates or drama. That tweet by Ryan did the trick; lure in chaos. Are you watching next Sunday/Monday? Based on these replies, some will; others won’t. Either way, it’s going to be epic.
