Returning yet again with the element of “Please Don’t Destroy,” a Saturday Night Live digital short team, and this time it’s got a rather ludicrous but kinda rave-worthy sketch featuring actress Mikey Madison as the very Squidward Tentacles.

The clip that was snagged from the official SNL X account has made intense buzz among fans and critics alike.
What is it about? A live-action parody that goes too surreal to make Madison’s deadpan Squidward wade through the nonsense of Bikini Bottom. It’s absurd, something you’d find in a typical sketch off that baton, replete with casual, rapid-fire jokes and insane energy, which may seem genius to some or grating to others.
Immediately, fans began reacting. One, Calvin Eighter, seemed to have enjoyed the bit and wrote, *”This was actually pretty good!”* while Tyler Hackner simply declared, *”I love this segment.”* Not everyone was swept away.
Jack Dupp fired back saying, *”You keep thinking this show can’t be more unfunny, but tonight proved that idea wrong.”* Meanwhile, Teddy Twain bluntly asked, *”Who watches this sht???”*-sentiment echoed by Ivy Malise, who joked, *”This is exactly how these terrible shows end up getting made.”*
The sketch even played out a case of mistaken identities. User sydney top-termed, *”Thought that SpongeBob was @trixiemattel for a second 😭,”* referring to the drag queen’s iconic sharp features.
With all that, one fan took a shot at SNL’s summer hiatus: *”The only bad thing about summer is you guys not putting on shows. You ruined summer! 😂 Jk.”*
It is either love or hate: “Please Don’t Destroy” is one of those divided creations-that’s probably the point too. That style, so offbeat and relentless in its oddness, is carving out that niche indelibly impossible to ignore.

So… was this Squidward bit a masterpiece or a misfire? The internet remains fiercely divided.
