So Shawn Mendes gave up a sweet little thank-you letter to Puerto Rico after that historic show, and indeed, the replies were pure chaos, in a good way, of course. He tweeted in Spanish, ‘La verdad. Escucha la voz del pueblo. Muchas gracias… fue un honor. Boricua ❤️🔥’ with a snippet of what looked like concert footage.

Right, what is it really? Well, some definite Chi-town love over here, much like he identifies himself as Boricua—a mark of pride for Puerto Ricans, in case you needed a refresher. And, audience? They went in. From spam of ‘TE AMO’ to, like, have him drop the live version on Spotify yesterday, just a classic.
@Jeancito2006_ thanked him: ‘Thank you so much! It was my first concert, and it was a beautiful experience🥹❤️🇵🇷’. Like what a flex for a first concert! @GabyRoss25 told him, ‘You NEED to come back next time you’re on tour don’t forget to add Puerto Rico to the list. You’re a Boricua too now!!’; seriously, who even gave him the audacity to claim an entire cultural identity for himself after just 1 show? This is iconic.
Then came @skkinnyboyy with a whole thesis: ‘GRACIAS for raising your voice for our beaches, honoring our culture and giving us the best night of our lives, an unforgettable experience and even more so being my first concert! TE AMOO @ShawnMendes 🇵🇷🥹❤️🩹’ Talk about priceless, Shawn has to hang that thing on his wall.
But not everyone’s jammin’ there. Enter @swiftlynat with this beauty: ‘You sing everywhere except to your native Ecuador 💔’ – ouch. A serious guilt-trip, I say. And then, of course, @oallandrade is begging ‘volta pro brasil amor’, whatever that means; clearly, Brazil misses him too. The struggle of being a global pop star, huh?
Not to underestimate those replies from some random account faking Shawn that just said, ‘Hey beautiful! I wanted to connect with you personally…’ Like, these bots really be sliding into DMs on a thank-you tweet. Internet life, man.
All we know is that Shawn’s little Latin America tour left people really emotionally distressed, and I mean this in good form. The replies will probably melt anyone – be it ‘te amo mi rey’ or ‘MISS U 💘😭🇧🇷’- one will find pure love, demands, and borderline existential crises in them. And, I say it too.

What comes next? More shows, more emotional tweets, and definitely more people shouting at him to come to their country. But for now, Puerto Rico reigns.
