Sydney Sweeney Canceled Wedding After Feeling ‘Overwhelmed’ — Report

Escalating the breakup rumors, a source told PEOPLE that Sydney Sweeney canceled her wedding after feeling “overwhelmed” as she “didn’t feel right about” it. In the past few weeks, claims of the actor’s rumored split from her fiancé of three years, Jonathan Davino, took over social media, especially owing to the former’s unusual living situation. Sweeney then went on an all-girls safari trip, further fueling split rumors. A source had previously told US Weekly that they “called off the wedding for now,” citing “major issues.”

Sydney Sweeney is all about ‘working right now,’ claims ‘source’

An exclusive source recently informed PEOPLE about Sydney Sweeney canceling her wedding to “focus” on her career. On Monday, the insider told the outlet that her relationship and impending nuptials to Jonathan Davino were overwhelming her. They added, “She didn’t feel right about it.” The source believes Sweeney is “exactly where she wants to be,” and a work schedule like hers would easily overwhelm others but not her. They highlighted that she is “all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”

The actor is currently working on a new season of HBO’s hit series, “Euphoria,” which landed her an Emmy nomination. In addition, she will lead the forthcoming movie adaptation of bestselling author Freida McFadden’s thriller, “The Housemaid.” On top of that, Sweeney is lined up to play boxer Christy Martin and retired star Kim Novak in more works. The source claimed that she is “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago,” which is exactly “what she wants to focus on right now.”

The source mentioned that Sydney Sweeney is “not ready to settle down,” adding to rumors about her and her fiancé’s canceled wedding. “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off,” the statement continued, highlighting that lack of love did not cause their rumored breakup. But it was the fact that “she just wants to focus on her career right now.”

Sweeney and Davino first started dating in 2018 and announced their engagement four years later, in 2022.
