The forthcoming film adaptation of the hit video game Split Fiction is starting to pick up steam, having assembled some of its main players to help bring the game-to-screen project to life. Variety reports that Sydney Sweeney, star of Madame Web, Anyone But You, and Euphoria, is the first cast member to board the movie. She will be directed behind the camera by Wicked helmsman Jon M. Chu, who will visualize the screenplay penned by Deadpool & Wolverine writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also previously scripted the Zombieland films.
It has yet to be decided if Sweeney will take on the lead role of Zoe Foster or Mio Hudson in the Split Fiction movie, aka the two main playable characters in the innovative co-op action-adventure game from developer Hazelight Studios and publisher Electronic Arts. They are both unpublished authors with polar opposite personalities who end up trapped inside a simulation of their respective fantasy and sci-fi stories, hooked up to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. The unlikely duo team up to overcome obstacles and find a way out.
More to come…
