Taylor Swift has made yet another sparkly addition to her already dazzling resume-catwalk-her track ‘Paper Rings’ from Lover has just reached Platinum in the UK. Yes, you guessed it. The bubbly love-drunk anthem achieved the sales requirements officially crossing the line into certificate status, and sending Swifties (yeah, we mean people who love her music) literally out-of-their minds-in the kindest possible way.

The news was broken by a tweet from Taylor Swift Updates while the comments? Absolute lunacy. Some character named Tehmi Spark hit us with ‘Swiftie to the rock,’ which-what-oh what does that mean? But hey, energy be energy, and we here for it. Heather Clark, though, called Lover the best album ever (valid) and tagged ‘Paper Rings’ as the best song. Bold claim, but again-respect.
Then solid and short would be Leela Tirdiya, jumped straight in it and said, “Awesome beautiful queen.” Condensed sweet, no notes. HN, on the other hand, tagged it as ‘the ultimate song for dancing,’ and honestly? Well, they’re not lying. Play that at a wedding and watch the floor explode. And of course, someone had to drop the classic ‘queen of pop’ line because by now it’s pretty much a fact.
Well, other than being another flex in Swift’s seemingly infinite trophy case, ‘Paper Rings’ is one of those tracks that just feels like sheer, unadulterated joy. It may not be the deepest cut on Lover, but it’s exactly the sort of song that makes one want to twirl in a sundress if it’s not dragging directly at midnight belting the lyrics with a best friend. And now with this, the UK has also given it the official stamp of hit-cause duh, it always was.
But this is not the first time Swift has made her way through the UK charts; would not have any certifications left for her by now and would just make her way to claiming the entire country as a hold against her kind. Not that they would ever mind either way.

Congratulations, Taylor, to all those who have been blasting ‘Paper Rings’ since 2019 on repeat. You did it! Go toot it yourself. Or maybe even ten more times. Whatever works.
