Congressman Adam Schiff lit a wildfire across the internet with his tweet, and understandably… people had THOUGHTS. The Californian Democrat claimed that former President Donald Trump was willing to ‘defy the Constitution and deny due process,’ adding to the gale of controversy, ‘his ignorance of his oath of office should shock all of us.’ And chaos, of course, ensued.

As we know, Schiff never shies away from any publicity. But so did the replies. Conspiracy theories, counterstimuli, and even calls for Schiff’s arrest were being thrown about. That was how heated it turned!
Flint Hutchinson wasted no time: “How much of the Jan6th materials did you shred? Why did you withhold evidence from Jan6th defendants?” Ouch. That was a direct slap against Schiff’s capacity in submitting the investigations’ completion. Another was his partner in crime, Johnny Schaben: “Why didn’t you prosecute them for deporting illegals without due process?” Classic whataboutism-and that’s Twitter for you.
Ron Schnaper was soon behind him, calling Schiff a ‘traitor who should be in prison.’ Chantal Carerre went all in, accusing Democrats “of supporting sex trafficking of children” and “migrant warfare.” Oops! The battering continued with Paul E. Tijirk, who linked another article about Obama’s deportations and essentially said, “Hey, remember this?”.
Then it wasn’t all fury. Some simply dismissed it. Sunshine said, “Sadly, it isn’t shocking!”; Like, at this point, would anyone be shocked?
Dominic Butaitis Jr. came with, “Didn’t you deny the President all those things when you accused him of Russian collusion?” Touché.
The most lavish one was probably an amount by Lavern Spicer, which was… quite a lot. It read as a fever dream of accusations-immigration fraud, perjury, and it ended with, “And STILL Ain’t Nobody Gonna Try To Remove Your Skanky Black Ass From Congress?” OK then.
It goes without saying that Schiff’s tweet cut deep, but whether it changed any minds is anyone’s guess. The replies were angry, sarcastic, even trolling, which says a whole lot about how political Twitter becomes a prosecuting battleground where everyone is in your face to engage.

So, what’s the upshot? Schiff’s tweet became a divider; the ripples, very much. And of course, the internet always being the one to turn every single thing into an erupting screaming match. Will this do anything? Probably not. But for the next 24 hours, it has certainly kept everyone sufficiently puzzled enough to argue over. Return to your regularly scheduled broadcast of political chaos now.
