Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson, in a rarer messy moment of humanization, showed himself to be more relatable post a funny and heartwarming post about a young fishing enthusiast who looked so much like him. The kid with the Instagram handle @fishingwithdaboys84 had posted a video of himself hoisting a big fish captioned, “What’s up boys?” Johnson commented, “Love this kid! We gotta go fishing one day, big man, and catch some hawgs.”

Likewise, The Rock joked about their similarity: “And if I was your age, I think we’d be ‘low key twins.’” The bass wanted to get reeled in with that last shot- a beaming ear-to-ear grin kind of moment The Rock wanted to show off! That last shot 😂😂😂 You’re the man, Rock,” a fan commented, very entertained by the wholesome interaction.
The post went viral with comments flowing in with people reacting to it. “I bet you made that kid’s day!” read one while another said, “Just two cool dudes who love to fish at their local pond!” Nostalgia spiralled as some people started to reminisce on birthdays and fishing outings of their own. One heartfelt comment read, “That boy never forgets that experience. Like what I did when I was young. I miss my childhood experience in fishing.”
But not everyone wanted to join in on the fishing fun. One dissenting comment said, “No, this is a sin. Why are you promoting sin?” It was a stand-out comment for just a little while amidst the positivity.
This season, Johnson shared little slice-of-life bits of life such as brutal workouts and family fun. Yet, fishing, for a change, brought him an unusual audience, a platform putting global superstars on par with so simple pleasures. As one fan put it, “Final boss is fishing.”
This was more than a fleeting moment of social media fame; it showed that Johnson was willing to get down and personal. Spotlight-wielding “Rock” drilling down into a young fan’s hype is ridiculous to join, isn’t it? Interested, the kid replied, “I would love to fish with you someday!”
Comments began to pile up, as it was clear that Johnson’s charm was not just confined to the big screen. Whether lifting weights or reeling bass, Johnson always finds a way to make it fun. Judging by the vibes of this post, some fishing might just happen soon for the two “low-key twins.”
