‘The Hunger Games’
June 1
Jennifer Lawrence became an action superstar when she appeared as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, an adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel in the dystopian nation of Panem, where a group of teenagers compete in the titular annual event. Katniss and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are forced to face off against participants from Panem’s other 11 districts in a televised battle royale to the death, relying on their unique survival skills to make it out alive.
Lawrence, Hutcherson, and fellow star Liam Hemsworth attracted admirers all around the world with their spirited performances in the adaptation. Katniss became a beloved female heroine whose fighting spirit and determination endeared her to audiences everywhere. Fans of the Oscar-winning actress and the popular book series can stream The Hunger Games and its exciting three sequels on Max on June 1.
‘Casino’
June 1
Dynamic duo Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro continued their Hollywood winning streak when they teamed up for the epic crime drama Casino. The film centers on gambling expert Sam “Ace” Rothstein as he is tasked by the Mafia to oversee the everyday operations of Las Vegas’ Tangiers Casino. Despite things starting off smoothly, Sam eventually has to contend with his hot-headed enforcer and close friend Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci). He also falls in love with the beautiful con artist Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone).

Scorsese’s fascination with this small facet of life triggered him to develop several of the greatest gangster movies of all time.
Casino marked the eighth collaboration between Scorsese and De Niro, with the legendary actor proving once again why he is the undisputed king of the gangster genre. Stone also serves up one of the finest performances of her career as the drug-addicted hustler Ginger, while the entertaining banter and on-screen chemistry between De Niro and Pesci helped the crime film rise above its familiar Scorsese territory. The violent and equally engrossing Casino arrives on Max on June 1.
‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’
June 1
Remaking a timeless Hollywood classic is no easy feat. Yet director Philip Kaufman knew exactly what he was doing when he helmed the ’70s sci-fi horror extravaganza Invasion of the Body Snatchers. After noticing several friends and colleagues complaining about a stark change in their loved ones, San Francisco health inspector Matthew Bennell (Donald Sutherland) discovers that humans are being replaced by an alien duplicate completely devoid of emotion and humanity.

These 10 sci-fi movies are an absolute blast to rewatch, no matter what mood one is in.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers is every bit as good (and some may argue even superior) to the 1956 original, and the ominous horror hit’s legacy and impact have only grown in the many decades since its original release. The paranoid atmosphere and genuinely frightening moments of Matthew interacting with the pod people will have you on the edge of your seat, and the film’s downright devastating ending will stick with you long after the credits roll. Witness the iconic final scene and Sutherland’s hair-raising scream when the film hits Max on June 1.
‘Bullet Train’
June 3
Brad Pitt proved why he will always be one of Hollywood’s most entertaining leading men when he starred in the explosive action comedy Bullet Train, in which he plays the unlucky assassin Ladybug as he is tasked with retrieving a mysterious briefcase on a Tokyo train, only to discover he is directly competing against an eclectic group of other killing machines. Stuck on the world’s fastest train, Ladybug is determined to turn over a new leaf, which is easier said than done.
Pitt is in peak form in Bullet Train as his physicality and comedic chops are on full display in the flick, which also features memorable appearances by famous faces like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, and Brian Tyree Henry. With unique characters, zany action sequences and kills, and delightfully chaotic energy from beginning to end, Bullet Train will get your heart racing when it arrives on June 3.
‘The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie’
June 27
Legendary cartoon duo Daffy Duck and Porky Pig are back and ready for another epic adventure in the sci-fi comedy The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which follows the lovable odd couple as they become the planet’s last hope for survival against an alien invasion involving… bubble gum? Daffy and Porky discover that scientists at the Goodie Gum factory are contaminating the product with a green goo, turning anyone who chews it into a mind-controlled zombie. Together, the pair must race to save the world from the aliens.
The Day the Earth Blew Up is the first theatrically-released, completely original spin-off from the Looney Tunes Cartoons, with director Pete Browngardt setting out to craft a “sci-fi B-movie from the ’50s” involving the beloved duo while also taking inspiration from The Day the Earth Stood Still and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The buddy comedy is jam-packed full of wacky gags, high energy, and a heaping dose of wholesome nostalgia, and will be available to stream on Max on June 27.
