On Wednesday, May 28, Hailey Bieber and e.l.f. Beauty announced they were joining hands for a major beauty acquisition. The model took to her social media to announce that she was selling her skincare and makeup brand, Rhode, to the California-based cosmetics brand in a deal worth up to $1 billion. This has reportedly landed Bieber in the billionaire club, leading to trending conversations around her net worth.
Bieber launched Rhode in 2022, cofounding it alongside entrepreneur Michael D. Ratner and his wife, Reformation’s former Marketing Director, Lauren Ratner. The brand quickly rose to popularity, reportedly making over $212 million in net sales over 12 months to March this year. Through her Instagram post, the model announced the partnership with e.l.f. Beauty is the “next chapter in the world of rhode.”
The entrepreneur hinted that she and her “disruptor” shared the same vision to “be a different kind of company that believes in big ideas and innovation.” Bieber announced that she would be taking on a bigger role at Rhode as chief creative officer and head of innovation. She also would be stepping into the role of strategic advisor to e.l.f. Beauty.
