The new posters of the live-action remake of ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ were posted by DiscussingFilm, and the internet has gone into overdrive with the news of its cinema release on June 13. The reaction has also come from people on two completely different sides: some are super excited, while the others wonder whether we need another animation-to-live-action adaptation. The different reactions? There are those chomping at the bit to get the release dates, while some are downright sceptical, and everything else in between!

First round hype brigade all hyped sent in on Twitter like Shashi Kumar K R said ‘Posters are looking amazing! Can’t wait for this live-action!’ Of course Zack just commented on the posters saying, ‘Amazing’ and combined that little tweet with a heart and dragon emoji. Andy Lister referred to the strong aspect of IMAX and 3D, and now he can’t wait to see Toothless with Hiccup flying across the big screen. Even Leo called the movie “Legendary” before it ever made it to theaters.
Then soon began the other half of the skeptics talking: smashing things like ‘Another live-action remake we don’t need, but Hollywood thinks we want it’ – TheGeekReborn. Then came Joshua Haskett calling it ‘a wholly soulless and pointless live-action remake of a classic animated feature’. Drew P. Ballse questioned any artistic license of Why bother doing a version of a movie with a plot and characters that mirror the original? And NObody? Quite bluntly, accused Hollywood of milking this cash cow. Ouch.
There lay the leave of the chaos open. A big ol’ back-and-forth popped off between Ted Trash and TheGeekReborn. When TheGeekReborn asked if Ted disagreed with their take, Ted had no hesitation in replying: ‘Climb in a coffin, mate. It’s time for a grand exit.’ Clear? Maybe. Entertainment? Definitely.
Then some strange detours took place. MartinezOnChain tied the film to Bitcoin and asked someone, ‘train my #bitcoin to stop messing with me and pump!’ Hala Abdul Moneim indifferently started talking about abandonment and distress before putting a link through for donations. A bit off course but then again, it isn’t very sane out there in Twitter.
Debayo went further to set up a mini-thread asking what dragon was in the second poster and quite a number of users jumped in with the answers ‘Monstrous Nightmare’ and ‘Hookfang.’ Meanwhile, DxTCinema dropped this random piece of information-the trailer in IMAX is ‘insanely loud.’ Great if you wanna check it out in theatres.
But there were many confused. Banana🍌 was convinced that the movie had dropped already, and Terriblty was busy attempting to question whether it was actually worthy of IMAX viewing. And of course, there is Emanuel Martinez mumbling to nobody: ‘So the second poster is just so so fucking hard.’ Nothing else to explain.

Whether it’s hyped or not, one thing stands established: this live-action remake has already backfired some really intense feelings. Will it be anything like the animated classic? We will find out on June 13. Until then, expect more hot takes, more Bitcoin references, and quite possibly another blast from Ted’s coffin!
