My Hero Academia Drops New Bombshells in New Epilogue, Revealing Details About All For One

My Hero Academia may be over, but new revelations about the series are still coming out thanks to a new databook that was recently released in Japan. This databook features some fascinating new information about All for One, and how his rivalry with the users of One for All finally went down.

Fans certainly knew some details about the past conflict between All for One and One for All. Before Midoriya, there were eight users of One for All in total, and they mostly died in battle with All for One, passing the Quirk on to whomever was closest. Now, however, the My Hero Academia: Ultra Age fan databook has given a detailed account of how each stood up to All for One in their own way, and how One for All’s users increasingly became targeted by the increasingly powerful villain. While the info is still trickling in from Japan, what’s known at the moment is quite fascinating.

My Hero Academia’s All for One Tried Viciously to Reclaim One for All

The Villain Would Stop at Nothing to Regain His Brother’s Quirk

The databook revelations are massive, so it’s difficult to be concise, but it includes detailed passages on each previous user of One for All, revealing their true names, many of which were unknown. The Third User, referred to only as “Bruce” in the manga, has been revealed to be named “Bruce Lee,” for example, and it’s said that he was a researcher who was the one to discover that Yoichi actually had a Quirk, and actually gave it the name “One for All.” Surprisingly, Bruce had a rather peaceful end, able to pass on One for All to Shinomori and then flee, dying in his hometown outside of Japan.

All for One, for his part, was revealed to have been born “Zen Shigaraki.” All for One apparently lost track of One for All after it was given to Shinomori, but rediscovered it when Shinomori passed it down to Daigoro Banjo, the fifth user, who openly resisted All for One. Banjo tried to keep others at a distance, but sixth user Tayutai En happened to be present when Banjo and All for One fought, discussing One for All as he did so. A badly injured Banjo passed it on to En, who then formed a team of heroes to resist All for One–a team that would include Gran Torino and Nana Shimura.

Nana Shimura Wasn’t the Only One to Stand Against All for One

My Hero Academia Reveals the First Details of Nana’s Husband, Shigaraki’s Grandfather

Nana Shimura is said to have joined the organization standing against All for One because of her husband, who ultimately died while fighting All for One. This is what prompted her to give her son up and cut all connections to her family, leading directly to Tomura Shigaraki’s creation. They eventually discovered Toshinori Yagi, the soon-to-be All Might, and had him flee to the US after inheriting One for All to keep him out of All for One’s hands.

The whole twisted, brutal timeline of All for One and One for All’s century-long rivalry has finally been revealed to fans, and they can appreciate just how much effort went into ensuring Midoriya could wield One for All as he does. My Hero Academia‘s history is certainly a fascinating one, so hopefully English-language fans will be able to get their hands on the Ultra Age databook soon.
