The weight loss drug Mounjaro has been the talk of the town recently, especially with its celebrity users. From Meghan Trainor crediting it for helping her after her second pregnancy, to The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania saying that she prefers it over Ozempic, it’s quickly picking up steam.
Speaking of housewives, Sophia Umansky, daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards has also been giving the weight loss alternative a try. And, it hasn’t been going off without a hitch. In fact, in a now-viral TikTok video, she showed that she’s experiencing sudden hair loss as a side-effect. Everyone is concerned for her health, and warning her to stop taking it ASAP. Some are even going as far as stating it could be damaging her health beyond hair. Amidst the backlash, she is speaking out.
Sophia Umansky wants people to “calm down” over her weight-loss drug use
Sophia recently spoke out against all the criticism, and she’s not for it whatsoever. She doubled down on taking the weight loss drug, and issued her advice to those who are saying that she might have medical issues related to taking Mounjaro.
“They’re not doctors and I think everyone needs to calm down and live their own lives. And honesty will get you far in life and lying is not fun. It’s not good,” she told PEOPLE.
The Buying Beverly Hills alum even included Kyle into the conversation, applauding her for backing her up in her decision.
“And of course we have guidance from our mom, and she wasn’t saying like, ‘Oh, you should be on this medication.’ Definitely not saying that. I think she was definitely trying to veer me away from getting on this medication, but once I spoke to doctors and she saw that that’s the path I wanted to take, she was very supportive.”
Season 15 of RHOBH hasn’t been greenlit just yet, but if that happens, this would make for quite the interesting storyline for the Umansky family.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
