Supernova’ Reactions Predict Return of SpaceGodzilla

MonsterVerse fans have plenty to celebrate today (May 9) after Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary officially made their gargantuan announcement that the sequel to the immensely popular Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) is now in production. The video teaser has viewers excited not only about Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’s release in the spring of 2027, but diehards are already speculating that the beloved fan-favorite kaiju SpaceGodzilla is returning to the big screen as the film’s villain. @callmestorm23 wrote in the YouTube footage’s comments (below):

“I’m calling it right now, Space Godzilla is going to be the main villain.”

@z01_01 added:

“YOOO SPACE GODZILLA?? IM HYPED! I FINNA WANNA SEE GODZILLA REACH HIS PEAK OF POWER AND ACTUALLY GET MORE SCREEN TIME THAN KONG!!”

Another fan of the Godzilla x Kong: Supernova production announcement not only believes SpaceGodzilla will be facing off against the King of the Monsters and King Kong in 2027, but the user backs it up with some facts taken away from the footage. @BewareDaBorovoi26 wrote:

“GUYS ITS SPACE GODZILLA!!! Not only it’s called Godzilla X Kong: Supernova 0:34, but at their end there’s a Godzilla Roar… but it’s not quite OUR Godzilla’s roar 0:38.”

@Flash-FireCC even threw some shade at Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s inferior villain while touting the arrival of SpaceGodzilla to Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse. The YouTube user wrote in the comments:

“Godzilla and Kong just after defeating Skar King: ‘😓😓.’ Space Godzilla: ‘Stand ready for my arrival worms.'”

SpaceGodzilla Would Certainly Heat Things Up in ‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’

The Godzilla x Kong: Supernova production announcement has already sent the rumorville into full vigor nearly two years ahead of the sequel’s release. However, the SpaceGodzilla speculation is somewhat warranted. Some of the more discerning and vigilant uber-fans like @DangerVille have broken down social media posts since the release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and it appears that star Dan Stevens may have already let the cat out of the bag about the inclusion of SpaceGodzilla in the next film.

Regardless, though, the addition of the classic Toho villain, SpaceGodzilla, would give the King of the Monsters and King Kong a run for their money, as the crystalline clone was created with the aid of Godzilla’s cells. Thus, SpaceGodzilla already possesses Godzilla’s enormous strength, but the extraterrestrial creature also exhibits other unique abilities which make him much more powerful than everyone’s favorite Titan in a one-on-one situation.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova would also mark the first appearance of SpaceGodzilla in the Warner Bros. and Legendary MonsterVerse after having appeared for the first time as foe of the King of the Monsters during the Heisei era’s installment of the film franchise, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994) over 30 years ago.

The upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel hits theaters on March 26, 2027. The follow-up to the box office blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire already boasts a stacked cast, including the return of the aforementioned Dan Stevens and newcomers to the MonsterVerse Sam Neill, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, and Alycia Debnam-Carey.
