Right now, it’s a frenzy-ing, with the second day in Seattle gondola having been teased liberally by HBO. Instant reactions in the air were pouring upon celebrations. The official Instagram account captioned awfully simply, yet the hype factor was there: “Seattle Day Two. A new episode of #TheLastOfUs premieres Sunday at 9PM on @StreamOnMax.” It was nothing but fuel to the fire!

And the emergence of a gigantic hype is 100 percent accurate. User ‘athvmy’ lays it plainly: It’s their favorite part in the game, and they say: “so excited to see it portrayed in the show!!” Actually, I am with him. The Seattle segment of The Last Of Us Part II is heavy, brutal, and just one of the most emotionally charged moments throughout the whole game. If the show is on point with the execution of this section, then this one will certainly be among the best episodes of the show.
And now ever so gently, the stage is set for a little action. “Action better pick up during these last couple of episodes 🙏 last ep was a taste of it same with 3 but we need more with Ellie fighting pls,” begged ‘ny33mlil.0’, quite fair. Though there may be slower moments, Seattle Day Two should be a roller coaster of chaos from start to finish, per the pace of the game.
Discussing the change: bigdog1697 thinks Dina is way more involved in the action this time around: “Dina looks just as determined to take down the Salt Lake Crew as Ellie. Love this change with her being more integral in Day 2 unlike the game.” Interesting take! Dina was mostly sidelined in this section in the game, so if the show lets her do more during these scenes, that would be a step in keeping her character relevant.
On the contrary, it is not everyone who is pleased. “renand.siqueira” called the second season “terrible” and claimed, “The second season is developing terribly, the script is weak, it doesn’t convey anything about the game’s immersion, it’s become a sitcom.” Ouch. Harsh words, even-so, and I am sure it will resonate with a few adaptions not matching perfectly with some. Meanwhile, “bigothy_iggothy” accused the writers of forgetting the core message of the game. The comment says: “Did the writers forget what TLOU part 2 was about? I feel like they forgot the lesson was supposed to be about revenge and they’ve just written vomit for the sake of a pay check.” Yikes.
Then we have this random but funny comment from ‘bakahitsthebooks,’ who just had to compliment Ellie’s hair: ‘Those Dyson hair wrap apocalyptic waves are everything. 😍’ Priorities, huh?
Either way, whether in for praise or hurling criticism, the show is being talked about. The Last of Us has always been a topic of debate, and this season is no exception. With Seattle Day Two hopefully shipping soon, fingers crossed for either a big-hit season or bigger-backlash. In either case, hold on to your hats. This roller coaster ain’t over yet.
Meanwhile, speaking of Joel, there’s a big hoopla about more Joel flashbacks. User ‘krose94’ says, “I hope we see Joel again this episode too (besides the flashbacks in episode 6)!” Well, let’s just say that everybody’s really keeping their fingers crossed for a little screen time with Pedro Pascal.

And needless to say, all the hype and drama are very real. If only Sunday would show up already!
