10 Things To Remember Before Season 3

Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of sexual assault, self-harm, eating disorders, and depression.

Ginny & Georgia season 3 is nearly here, and there’s a lot you’ll need to remember before diving into the upcoming episodes. The Netflix series premiered its first season in 2021, and season 2 was not released on the streaming service until 2023. Following this trend, Ginny & Georgia season 3 will arrive on Netflix on June 5, 2025, nearly four years after the story first began. Within the story itself, however, Georgia and her children have only lived in Wellsbury for a handful of months—but a great deal has happened in this time.

Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia follows the titular mother-daughter duo who are far from conventional. Georgia Miller is a force to be reckoned with, but her years of secrets and tendency to play fast and loose with the law take a significant toll on Ginny. Throughout the series, Ginny grapples with the love she feels for her mother while attempting to distinguish herself from the woman’s mistakes. This is sure to come to a head in Ginny & Georgia season 3, but there’s far more to keep in mind ahead of the premiere.

Georgia Murdered Her First Husband (But It Was An Accident)

This First Murder Will Probably Come Back To Bite Georgia

A significant part of Ginny & Georgia‘s premise revolves around Georgia’s difficult past. She never had it easy, and though Georgia escaped the childhood home where her stepfather sexually abused her, this didn’t put an end to her hard knocks. At one point, Georgia ended up in New Orleans running an illegal gambling ring, and when Ginny was taken away from her, her only way out was to marry a man named Anthony Greene.

Anthony wasn’t overtly abusive, but he took advantage of Georgia’s desperate situation to keep her entrapped within his home. In an attempt to escape, Georgia slipped Anthony some pills, expecting them to put her husband to sleep. Instead, the man died. It was an accident, but Georgia knew she couldn’t call the police. Instead, she called her motorcycle gang friends to come cover up the crime. Years later, very few ever thought to suspect Georgia.

Georgia Murdered Her Second Husband (On Purpose)

Kenny’s Death Quickly Put The Heat On Georgia

Georgia may not have meant to kill her first husband, but the death of her second in Ginny & Georgia was certainly no accident. Kenny Drexel was the wealthy owner of a chain of yoga studios, and at the beginning of the Netflix series, all we knew was that he had died of a heart attack. It’s immediately apparent that Georgia wasn’t too bothered by the man’s death. Eventually, we see why.

Kenny had begun to be inappropriate with Ginny, touching her thigh and waist even when the girl insisted he stop. Georgia saw the whole thing and was immediately reminded of her own childhood. Her mother had never done anything to stop her husband from abusing Georgia, and the now-grown-up Georgia wouldn’t do the same to her own daughter. She blended up some wolfsbane flower petals into Kenny’s smoothie, causing the heart attack.

Private Investigator Gabriel Cordova Has Been After Georgia For 2 Seasons

Gabriel Nearly Gave Up On Georgia’s Case In Season 2

It’s unlikely anyone would have suspected Georgia of killing Kenny if it weren’t for P.I. Gabriel Cordova. The man was hired by Kenny’s ex-wife, who was enraged to learn that Georgia would inherit Kenny’s wealth. Gabriel followed Georgia and her children to Wellsbury, Massachusetts, where he assumed the alias Jesse and began dating Georgia’s colleague, Nick.

Throughout Ginny & Georgia seasons 1 and 2, Gabriel remained a significant nuisance for Georgia. It was because of this man that Ginny found out that her mother was a murderer, and this took a massive toll on the teenage girl. By the end of season 2, Gabriel was ready to give up on the case and head back to Texas. However, the death of Tom Fuller changed everything.

Georgia First Met Joe When She Was 15 (& He Gave Her His Sunglasses)

There’s A Long-Running Connection Here

Joe is the owner of Wellsbury’s Blue Farm Cafe, the farm-to-table restaurant where Ginny works. However, his connection to Georgia goes back much further than that. It’s actually because of him that Georgia considered moving to Wellsbury in the first place. She had met Joe back when she was 15, just after discovering that she was pregnant. The teenage Joe offered her a sandwich, and after they chatted about horses named Milkshake, he gifted her a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Joe and Georgia have a great deal of chemistry, but the latter has never really entertained it. Joe, on the other hand, has been solidly stuck on Georgia’s hook throughout Ginny & Georgia‘s existing two seasons. Still, Joe swallowed his pride, lent his horse to Georgia for her wedding, and attended the event as her friend.

Zion & Georgia Have An On-Again-Off-Again Relationship

Zion Will Never Really Be Over Georgia

Zion, Ginny’s dad, is another man in Ginny & Georgia who has never really been able to get over Georgia. The pair met one another when they were teenagers, and when Georgia became pregnant, Zion’s parents were prepared to take custody of the baby. This spooked Georgia, who ran away without a word. They were eventually reunited, but Zion was no better at sitting still than Georgia was.

Georgia and Zion got together and split up several times over the years, the last of which happened in Ginny & Georgia season 1, shortly before Paul proposed.

As of the end of season 2, Zion is in a getting-pretty-serious relationship with a woman named Simone. Still, it’s undeniable that Zion loves Georgia deeply, and he likely always will.

Austin Shot Gil In The Arm & Georgia & Ginny Covered It Up

Gil Was Dealt With (Temporarily)

Austin’s father, Gil, made a big return in Ginny & Georgia season 2. For the majority of the series, all we knew about this character was that he was in prison for embezzlement. However, after he showed up in Wellsbury, it was revealed that there was a bit more to the story. While Gil really had been embezzling money from clients, he was only caught because Georgia took out a little more money than would fly under the radar, thus framing her boyfriend.

5 Bold Predictions For Ginny & Georgia Season 3

Ginny & Georgia is a show that does not play it safe, which sets the stage for these bold predictions to potentially come true in season 3.

As is the typical trend for Georgia, she only did this because she thought it was the only way she could escape. Gil is a pretty nasty piece of work, and he had become terribly abusive toward Georgia. Once he got out of prison, the violence came right back. In a desperate attempt to protect his mother, Austin grabbed Georgia’s gun and shot his father in the arm. Georgia and Ginny covered the whole thing up, and, later, Paul made sure that Gil couldn’t blackmail Georgia any longer.

Ginny & Marcus Broke Up In Ginny & Georgia Season 2

Their Romance Is On Pause

Ginny and Marcus were the will-they-won’t-they relationship of Ginny & Georgia season 1, but they managed to find some happiness together in season 2. Ginny finally felt safe and loved in a relationship, and, even with everything going on with her family, she found some joy. However, Marcus entered a stage of depression in Ginny & Georgia season 2. He still loved Ginny, but he began to feel that it wasn’t right for him to be in a relationship.

Ginny realized that Marcus needed a friend more than a girlfriend, and she resolved to simply be there for him.

Ginny was heartbroken when Marcus broke things off in Ginny & Georgia. She was sure that he had lost interest in her, but Max ultimately explained that this depressive episode wasn’t anything new for her brother. Ginny realized that Marcus needed a friend more than a girlfriend, and she resolved to simply be there for him. Marcus returned the sentiment, choosing to be at Georgia’s wedding to support Ginny as her friend. The pair clearly still love one another, but their future in Ginny & Georgia season 3 is still unclear.

Ginny and Marcus aren’t the only teenagers in Ginny & Georgia struggling with their families, mental health, or relationships. In season 2, things are going a bit better for Max. After a triumphant performance on stage, she began a tentative relationship with the show’s costume designer, Silver. Similarly, Ginny’s friend Bracia finally got a date with the boy she liked, Bryon.

Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia season 2 was chock full of surprising twists, turns, and reveals — here are the 8 most shocking moments in the season.

Things have been a bit rougher for Abby, whose parents have been going through a messy divorce in Ginny and Georgia. So far, none of Abby’s friends know that she has been struggling in this way.

Georgia Told Paul The Truth (Mostly) & He Married Her Anyway

Paul Accepted Her For Who She Is

georgia-paul2

Gil came to Wellsbury with the intention of blackmailing Georgia, and it’s precisely this that led to the man getting shot. After covering the whole thing up, Georgia became terrified that Gil would follow through on his threat to tell Paul everything. She was backed into a corner, and when Georgia finds herself in that sort of position, she traditionally does everything she can to escape it.

As anyone could have expected, Georgia immediately began to make plans to leave town. To her, the gig was up, and it was time to move on. However, Ginny convinced her mother to tell Paul the truth about her past (minus the murders). Georgia did precisely that, and to her surprise, Paul decided to marry her anyway. He was angry and took some steps to handle Gil. However, he accepted Georgia for the messy person she was.

Georgia Was Arrested At Her Wedding For The Murder Of Tom Fuller

Austin Saw His Mother Commit The Crime

The big twist ending of Ginny & Georgia season 2 was Georgia’s arrest during her own wedding reception. In the days leading up to her wedding, Georgia did one last stupid thing. She had been at Cynthia Fuller’s house to pick up Austin and was sympathetic to her old nemesis’ situation regarding her husband, Tom. The man had been on hospice for months and was expected to die any day. However, Tom held on, comatose.

Georgia provided Cythia with what she considered a gift (a thank you for blocking Gil from getting an apartment in Wellsbury) by smothering Tom. No one would have suspected a thing, but Nick happened to mention to Gabriel that Georgia had been in the room when Tom died. The P.I. was immediately suspicious and reported what he knew to the police. They came for Georgia at her own wedding, and she was taken away in a police car. To make matters worse, Austin actually saw Georgia murder Tom, so he is in an even more tragic position going into Ginny & Georgia season 3.
