Apple’s latest back-to-school push did have students making the case to their own parents with a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation about why they need a Mac for college — but the video has now been removed.
It’s graduation season, which means that Apple is kicking off its yearly back-to-school push. And, in a time when everything feels more expensive, it has come up with a new method for selling Macs — making the students do the work themselves.
The promotion was a seven-and-a-half-minute-long video that walked students through the process of customizing free, Apple-designed slideshow. The slideshow features “45 customizable, parent-persuading reasons why Mac is crucial for college.”
The presentation was given by comedian Martin Herlihy, the son of “Saturday Night Live” writer Tim Herlihy. Like his father, Martin has also worked with “SNL,” producing digital shorts for the show.
It’s not known why Apple has subsequently removed the video. However, if you’re curious about what the presentations look like, you can still download the slides from Apple’s College Students landing page. They’re available for free in PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Keynote.
