Birdman Celebrates Cash Money Legacy With Flashy Post

Instagram/@birdman

Cash Money Recording co-founder unleashed a huge dose of nostalgia when he posted truly heavy words regarding the history of the label. The man put up an old-timey picture of the Cash Money Millionaires crew and tagged the official account of the label with hashtags such as #RG🏆⭐️🐐✈️🦅, implying some kind of claim as top horse in the rap industry. The caption was short and seemingly meaningless, yet if translated, would fill an entire dictionary for those familiar with the New Orleans empire since its 90s golden era.

Worldwide reactions to the post poured in. One observer called the phenomenon “Fire on da Bayou,” giving a shout-out toward Louisiana roots of Cash Money, and another showered love from Sierra Leone. Several more flooded the comment section with fire emojis and crowns, presenting Birdman as their top cash. Excitement was evidently universal, flowing out of Sierra Leone with the help of flag emojis for another fan who practically hypothetically affirmed that Cash Money is one of the most international rap influences to this very day.

There was quite a bit of chatter about tour date potential, with one comment stating, “Dade co. Aug 17th 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” thus keeping fans contemplating, speculating, and very excited about a show in Miami. Another was calling for some “down south artists” to be on the lineup, which would fit well with Cash Money’s regional aesthetic. The Cleveland mention came through loud and clear, with one fan already counting down the days for the Ohio stop.

The hottest reactions treated Birdman like a king: “THE HOTTEST GROUP IN THE WORLD……CASH MONEY MILLIONAIRES” was the all-caps tribute, and “the my namesake” declared how deeply his identity stands entwined with that of the mogul’s. Strange comments about “beef” began to surface in the same breath with DaBaby; however, the large majority of the reactions opposed the beef, support still leaning toward the music.

One fascinating thing about the whole exchange is that it continues to wax eloquently on the cultural momentum for the group. From counting down toward the tour dates, to sign-offs abroad too, this activity reestablishes that the Birdman brand still moves people. The label who had it out for Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Mannie Fresh certainly has not been wiped from the scene with regards to the growth of hip-hop. Is this post talking about the next album? Next tours? Most certainly just a victory lap. One thing is assured: Whenever Birdman sprinkles that Cash Money class, people tune in. Reading through those comments is like a love letter to Southern hip-hop in its golden era, and the fans are ready to back whatever this evergreen hit-making crew puts on next.
