Jax Taylor is not getting the homecoming he expected. Depending on who you ask, The Valley star was either a changed man after spending a month in rehab, or drinking right out of the gate. Certainly his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright was hoping for the former scenario. But during this week’s episode of The Valley, the mother-of-one claimed to have proof that the Vanderpump Rules villain was out drinking just after getting home.
Jax’s stint in rehab was included in Season 2 of The Valley via video diaries. Once filming again, Brittany did everything to avoid her ex. However it was only a matter of time before they would have to confront the situation as their divorce was in motion. And how to co-parent their four-year-old son Cruz.
Brittany Cartwright got a “flood of DMs” about Jax Taylor’s post-rehab behavior
Brittany and Jax were to meet up at a restaurant to discuss their next steps. The sit-down was to be filmed for The Valley. But the Kentucky native bailed when she got information about Jax’s choice of activity the night prior.
“I have so many things I want to talk about with Brittany today,” Jax told producers. “And I’m sticking the tail between my legs because I don’t really have a leg to stand on here.”
The issue at hand was visitation for Jax, who claimed that he was barred from seeing Cruz since leaving rehab. Brittany initially agreed to meet to discuss the custody game plan.
“I think she knows that we have to talk at some point,” he continued. “We have a child together … and I haven’t even seen Cruz yet.”
While waiting for a presumably late Brittany, Jax got a call from her saying she was “not gonna come” at all. When the VPR alum questioned her, Brittany claimed that he was out drinking the night before.
“I woke up to a flood of DMs, talking about you last night, how drunk you were at the bar, and that you were with girls,” Brittany stated.
Jax retorted, “I wasn’t drunk at all, I went home early.”
“Yes you were,” Brittany doubled-down.
Brittany was willing to meet for Cruz’s sake
In a confessional interview, the podcast host explained how disappointed she was that rehab seemingly had no impact on Jax’s behavior.
“We have a child together. We are gonna have to co-parent, we are gonna have to move forward in some capacity,” Brittany explained. “He was just supposed to work on himself for 30 days, and as soon as he gets out he goes to the bar. I’m not putting up with that crap anymore.”
Later in the phone call, Brittany told her soon-to-be ex-husband that he was being a “horrible, vile human being” who put her in a “terrible situation” when he blew off mortgage payments on their marital home.
Jax defended himself in a confessional interview. He reasoned, “We are getting divorced. We are no longer together. So what I do on my own time is my business.”
