Summer is heating up, and so is the library of new and returning Paramount+ series. The streamer is the place to be for fans of CBS, Nickelodeon, Showtime, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, and the Paramount library of movies. There are several highly anticipated TV returns on deck for July.
One of CBS’ longest-running reality hits is back for its 25th anniversary. The crew of the Enterprise is setting out again, as is Michael C. Hall’s beloved serial killer. The younger crowd may also want to check out the new season of a beloved preschool series’ reboot. Additionally, several Paramount+ library shows are being added to the platform. Here are some highlights of Paramount+’s July 2025 television schedule.
‘Dora’ (Season 3)
Streams July 2
The original Dora the Explorer was a staple of millennial and Gen-Z childhoods. Countless kids learned interactive problem-solving with a focus on the Spanish language. Dora ran for nearly 20 years on Nickelodeon, spawning multiple spin-offs and film adaptations. It netted several award nominations, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Program in 2008 and 2009.
This revival first launched on Paramount+ in 2024. Like the original, the reboot follows Dora, Boots, Swiper, and the same cast of characters as they embark on explorations in the rainforest. The upcoming third season’s launch coincides with the new live-action film Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado. The new movie is a standalone sequel to 2019’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold, which starred Isabela Merced, known for The Last of Us, as Dora. Dora fans can catch both the film and the third season of the reboot when they’re released on Paramount+ on July 2.

Big Brother arrived on CBS in the early 2000s reality TV boom alongside staples like Survivor and The Amazing Race. Today, it’s one of the longest-running and most prestigious reality shows out there. Since debuting in the Netherlands in 1999, the franchise has been adapted in more than 50 countries. Julie Chen has served as the US host since the 2000 inception. Each year, the show features anywhere from 10 to 17 houseguests living together and being recorded 24 hours a day. Sequestered from the outside world, the guests are progressively eliminated over 100-ish days until only one winner remains.

Big Brother: Why the Reality TV Series Needs to Change its Format
With over 25 seasons, several spinoffs, and nearly 900 episodes, is it time for Big Brother to make some major changes?
Episodes of the 27th season will air on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through the fall. They will be available to stream on Paramount+ after their linear TV debut. However, subscribers to the Paramount+ Premium plan can stream Big Brother episodes simultaneously with the CBS airing. Viewers can also tune into 24/7 livestream feeds of the houseguests’ lives on Paramount+. To mark the 25th anniversary, the Big Brother universe will expand with the spin-off series Big Brother: Unlocked, to be hosted by fan-favorite players. The 27th year of this reality staple arrives on CBS and Paramount+ on July 10.
‘Dexter: Resurrection’ (Season 1) – Paramount+ Premium Plan
Streams July 11
Michael C. Hall’s Dexter dominated our TV screens from 2006 to 2013. The franchise was revisited in 2021 with the sequel series Dexter: New Blood. The 2024 prequel Dexter: Original Sin saw Patrick Gibson take the mantle as a younger version of the titular character. Dexter: Resurrection picks up after the end of New Blood, with David Zayas (Angel Batista), James Remar (Harry Morgan), and Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan) reprising their roles from the OG show and New Blood.
New faces include Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman, among others. The original Dexter was one of the highest-rated series on Showtime, with almost 3 million viewers for its 2013 series finale. However, it wasn’t without controversy. There were several instances of real-life crimes allegedly being inspired by those from the show. But our favorite serial killer has persisted through two sequels and a prequel TV series.
Dexter: Resurrection launches with two episodes for Paramount+ Premium subscribers on July 11. One episode will follow weekly until the September 5 season finale. In the meantime, fans can stream the entire original show on Paramount+. New Blood and Original Sin are only available for Paramount+ Premium subscribers.
‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ (Season 3)
Streams July 17
It’s been a bit of a wait for the return of the 12th series in the Star Trek franchise. Season 2 of Strange New Worlds ended nearly two years ago. The show follows Captain Christopher Pike, who was first introduced all the way back in the original pilot episode from 1965. Kirk replaced Pike for the full series and was later established as Kirk’s immediate predecessor. Anson Mount took over the role in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery, later becoming the leading star (pun intended) of Strange New Worlds. The series’ return to form, production design, and faithfulness to The Original Series have made it one of the best-reviewed Star Trek series.
Strange New Worlds follows Pike’s tenure as captain of the Enterprise in the decade before The Original Series. Other stars include Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, and Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura. Even though the third season hasn’t premiered yet, producers are already working on a fourth and fifth season. The fourth season is expected to be released in 2026, and the fifth and final season is expected to begin filming later this year. Strange New Worlds‘ third season will launch with two episodes on July 17. One episode will be released per week until the season finale on September 11.
