Interior Secretary Doug Burgum was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to discuss China’s ongoing threat to our national security.
“These Chinese nationals were charged with conspiracy and smuggling a dangerous biological pathogen into America for their work at the University of Michigan,” Bartiromo said.
“How are we supposed to have a fair and practical conversation with the Chinese Communist Party about a trade deal when they are undermining us trying to kill Americans at every turn?” Bartiromo asked.
“At minimum, we’ve lost over a hundred thousand people a year during the Biden administration to fentanyl,” Burgum said.
“This is a broad conversation we have to have with China,” Burgum said.
“The agroterrorism you are talking about. This is basically Wuhan Covid you know, meets agriculture,” Burgum warned.
“It’s hard to believe that this is any kind of a one off or something you know. The CCP says oh, we have nothing to do with this, and we are unaware of anybody bringing in any pathogen into America,” Bartiromo said.
“We’ve got these details of a conversation that was transcribed between this Chinese couple,” Bartiromo said about the pathogen that was smuggled into the US.
Secretary Burgum explained that China has had a long-term plan to control the market for rare earth minerals.
“China has, going back almost three decades, had a very strategic, long-term strategy of cornering the market for critical and rare earth minerals,” Burgum warned.
“They are controlling over 85 percent of the processing, so whether it’s semiconductors, jet fighters or anything with an electric motor in it, they can really hold the entire global economy hostage,” Burgum said.
Secretary Burgum explained the importance of having our own supply chain for critical and rare earth minerals. He said that President Trump is also bringing back mining, which is one of the things the Biden regime was getting rid of.
“The Biden administration was shutting down mining in this country and we have to have our own secure supply chain of these critical minerals and that is something that President Trump’s agenda is working on,” Burgum continued.
