The Babylon Bee, known for its satirical slants on events of the day, had its share of hilariously plausible speculations: among them, a judge might have ruled on a custody arrangement between Donald Trump and Elon Musk over the United States. According to the gag post, Trump would have the nation weekdays; Musk would have it every other weekend and on holidays. The immense ridiculousness of the premise elicited mixed responses, some saying it was just a bit too close to reality, while others said the absurdity made for a good laugh.

One user laughed, almost saying, “I want Trump on holidays. And weekdays… and weekends,” unwilling to share the former president with anyone. Another said, “This is what happens when a bromance goes bad but they’re also two of the most famous and powerful people on earth,” referring to the bizarre yet uncontested truth about these billionaires.
That, though, did not amuse everybody. Some saw it as another layer in the pit of hatred, with one commenter lamenting, “It may seem funny now, but this division is not good.” And a few on with the more nonsense, tossing out posed questions like: “Who gets the WiFi password and nuclear codes on Thanksgiving?”
The post sent one creative mind down the thoughts of the world’s name changing based on who’s in charge: “So on weekdays we’re gonna have to call it Gulf of America and on every other weekend and holidays it’s gonna be Gulf of X Æ A-12.”
And, naturally, no sub-plot involving Trump and Musk can be complete without someone mapping the real-world equivalents: “Just wait until the nation starts asking to live with Trump full time.” This was a heavy hint on the former president’s standing among his supporters.
While given the context, the post was pretty much satirical, the sheer volume of responses showed just how much these two filled in for public discourse. Laughter, groans, overt analyses—whatever transpired in response, one thing was quite evident: Such amounts of attention have hardly ever been paid to two names over the course of the globe, if at all.

Probably, this tsunami of a custody may not, at all, be the craziest headline we get this year, what with the unpredictability the worlds of politics and technology have turned into. For instance, U.S. courts continue to engage with Trump’s past decisions while discussions around his plans persist.
