Kelly Clarkson continues to show why ACE Magazine called her “one of the most gifted singers of this generation”. In the post, the singer gives a video of herself belting out a ridiculously high note, with the phrase “The headache was worth it” and a playful upside-down smiley face. The post, peppered with hashtags hinting to her forthcoming Vegas residency, sent her followers into a frenzy, with amazement and admiration.

In the very brief clip, Clarkson hits an extraordinarily high note only a few artists can even think about hitting, then Kelly being Kelly, she wryly said that it gave her this terrible headache and these are her usual comments on being extraordinary. The clip does not show the whole song, but that one high note alone gives everybody back memories of when she became the first American Idol.
Just beneath the clip, the comment section erupted with lavish praise. “¡Madre de Dios! ¡Reina icónica! ¡Eres irreal!” exclaimed one fan-the translation of which was shared by the majority in admiring unison. Another said simply, “One of the greatest vocalists of our time. Periodt.”, which sparked a debate about whether in vocal status Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin would be the only two above her.
Several comments even mentioned her nonchalance right after she performed the noted marvel. “HOW DO YOU HIT THAT NOTE AND JUST WALK AWAY LIKE ‘Oh my head hurts?’” exclaimed a flabbergasted fan, to which another replied “Kelly is so used to being amazing she probably doesn’t even realize how mind-blowing she is to us mere mortals.”
Another user appreciated this very humor. Commenter number one states, “LMAO she took herself out,” while another commented in jest, “Just so we’re clear…most people would have expired after that note…IF they were able to hit it at all. And by most people, I mean me.”
Not everyone did agree on this matter though. One comment was in Spanish: “Why for some time now does she have to be screaming? I used to like Kelly too much but with this she bores me more.” In contrast to the vast majority of applause, this hardly heard dissenting opinion stood out like an icon against its detractor.
More than one comment seemed to be alluding to her Vegas Residency opening on July 5th. One comment read, “July 5th I’m sooooo ready,” while another predicted, “The literal chills I will feel when she hits this note during the shows that I’m going in July. My soul may actually leave my body.”
The post also sent fans into a mad frenzy, who desperately want to see Clarkson and Pink working together. “I want you and P!nk to do something together soooooo bad,” the comment read, “Road is about to get lit with memories of them from back when.”
Known for her powerful voice and grounded personality, this post showcased the very best of Kelly Clarkson. With the perfect note, she did it for the world and then joked about how painful it was to hit such a note. There is no opposition: it must’ve been a perfect blend of otherworldly skill and down-to-earth capability that has kept Kelly close to many hearts for the past 20 years in this industry.

In a perfect world, all these could not have come at a worse time with her Vegas residency about to open down the road. Well, if the clip is anything to go by, then ticket-holders have got a lot of singing explosions to go through. Given Kelly, however, she will be cracking jokes about the headaches for days while subjecting everyone to yet another awe-inspiring fight. That’s just the way she does things-knocking them all out and having a blast!
