The NBA trade rumors seem to have finally afforded the past couple of hours for the trade chatter on Miami Heat superstar Bam Adebayo, positioning the Lakers as the favorite franchise to try their hand on acquiring him. The Bovada odds have gone public with the Lakers in the lead with a +190, Memphis Grizzlies coming next with +260, then San Antonio Spurs with +300, followed by Sacramento Kings at +375, and then the rest of the pack with the Dallas Mavericks coming in at +475 and Chicago Bulls at +1000.

The accompanying tweet and the odds show the Lakers being the one favorite in a setting so conjectured, with a bright Lakers logo emblazoned there, which meant that Los Angeles is the one who carries the augury forward into this speculation-filled setting, although the sides have not actually come to any conferment.
Naturally, this omission has produced heavy(in some very interesting) reactions. One sarcastic comment reads, “Pat Riley is not sending the Lakers anything… Stop dreaming.” Another bluntly says, “Why on earth would Miami do that?” It goes deeper, with Adebayo being a basic part of the Heat structure, a two-time All-Star, and a premier defensive anchor in the player pool. At least, this is where the fans do not buy the idea of trading him as it spells a huge shift in Miami’s way to compete.
Others took the opposite stance and mashed the ridiculousness of NBA trade talk in general. “This NBA has become a bunch of my Association 2K trades,” one said, surely in reference to the absurd trades in NBA 2K video games. Another added, “They say this every year,” referring to the regularity in which the Lakers are named as the possible cross-country team these stars might go to, realistic or not.
The few were allowed to entertain dreams over the possibilities. “Olympic Bam!!! I will take him,” submitted one enthusiastic inquiring party of Make America Great Again, alluding to Bam Adebayo’s great showing for Team USA. Another optimistically added, “If they do that, auto WCF,” meaning with Adebayo on board the Lakers would automatically be Western Conference Finals contenders.
The flip side of these gamblers would not even enjoy the thought. “We let Bam go, I wash my hands with the franchise,” issued one disgruntled fan in a threatening manner. Another said, “The ONLY reason we should trade Bam is if we’re getting a superstar like Luka,” although she conceded that the chances of it really taking place are slim to none.
The biggest pieces seem to follow a familiar pattern as the Lakers have reportedly been linked to basically every major-name player in the last few days. A chorus was heard: “I feel like we’re always the favorites to land insert any star/role player lol. Just for us to end up giving a 40-year-old another $50 mil extension.”
It is now up in the air whether these rumors have any solid ground. For now, it is just another day in the NBA rumor mill where the speculation goes galloping and the fans tend to overreact while front offices keep mum until something really happens.

But if history is any indication, fishermen-lakers will remain in the middle of these talks, willingly or unwillingly for the fans. So, for Bam Adebayo, unless Miami plans a full rebuild-would seem outright unlikely-he is probably staying for now.
