Larenz Tate is enjoying the Cali sunshine, and he would have it no other way if the world was not in on it. A breezy photo under the Instagram sky with the caption, “California dreamin … ya dig! ☀️ 🌴 😎💛,” right? Mood. In the picture, Tate looks amazing: T-shirt, camo pants, and, of course, sunglasses and a cap, as if he is a few hundred miles away from an old 90s R&B music video shoot. Palm trees highlight the backdrop, and golden hour glare gleams on the other side. You can literally feel the warm breeze.

From there, the comments quickly became a love fest. One commenter calls him “Mr. Tate The senator,” which is really funny and quite an honour. Another comments: “Lawddddddd, This man STILLLLLL fine!!!!” with exclamation points enough to light up a small city. You immediately have to hit the acceptance button! Ludacris said, “Grab a mic 🎤! It’s time!” And we would be really paying to see it – Tate spittin’ bars with shades on? Take all our money!
Things got oddly specific when user eva_nzingha commented: “It was late and Jamie’s kids were bugging, I had to rush the order out. But I got you down with Sticky and Fredro, as Sergeant Thistle.” Like, how? I have so many questions? What movie reference are we missing? Did I blackout during an Onyx reunion announcement? The internet is an enigma.
Meanwhile, feliciarobertscourtney went with the thirsty architect comment: “Move your hand…it’s distracting! Now tell me again how to paint a wall ⚘️😜” Ma’am, this is Wendy’s. To be fair, though, Tate looks like he could teach master classes in witness protection home improvement and looking good while doing it.
The post also had some suspicious ‘exclusive invite’ responses from accounts claiming to be his reps-this classic Instagram scam set-up that we absolutely will not fall for. Real ones know you don’t slide into comments with suspicious meet-and-greet schemes. Organic thirst only, people-it’s the safer bet.

In retrospect, this vaguely gives me one more chance to say, “Larenz Tate is still a rare breed and seems to get better with age.” The dude has been a babe from Love Jones; he’s probably never going to stop. Whether he’s actually dreaming California or just visiting doesn’t matter-one thing is sure- ‘Ese knows how to keep it casual yet create such a ruckus in a comment section.’ Stay golden, Larenz. Literally and figuratively.
