In the aftermath of actors dropping some alcoholic creations, along comes Lillard whistling with a simple concoction from an alchemy idea that is the natural 20 on charisma. Lillard, perhaps best known for his starring roles in Scooby-Doo and Five Nights at Freddy’s, has launched yet another liquor line for gamers: NPC, a $55 whiskey that comes with a D20 die and a drinking game called Brave or Knave. Can crazy-doing whisky ever be wrong? Lillard-style chaos went happily down the hatch with the very first gulp of NPC.

With all things Lillard relevant, he had taken the very first public sip at GameCon Canada. The footage was a whirlwind of excitement, a Canadianized shout-out to A.L Chandra cracking up at the almost-unbearable shock of his own product, “If you hate it, don’t tell me,” he quips later on, “It’s amazing,” classic Lillard, both self-deprecating and hyping at the same time.
The comment section is now that mixed bag of nostalgia, memes, and people eager to throw out their sobriety for a glass clink with the actor himself. “I just figured out what would break my sobriety: sharing a drink with Matthew Lillard,” one user joked. “Shaggy Rogers is having fun,” replied another, proving males whatever Lillard does; he is forever tied to that iconic role.
For the huge crossover that nobody saw coming, FNAF fans take the stage with, “William Afton getting smashed pre-missing children incident of 2025.” Dark? Uh-huh. Is it classy internet wise? Suck it.
In all seriousness, though, there is outrageously loud positivity about it. People who liked Lillard’s other whiskey endeavors such as Whitestone Courage are keen to add NPC into their collection. “You’ve turned a dice goblin into a whiskey drinker,” says one, which might be the rarest compliment out there.
Lillard’s charm has always been, “Like that one friend who’s maybe a little too into board games but also a life party.” This launch is just that energy bottled up. Whether the NPC is there for the whiskey, the gaming angle, or just pure joy in witnessing Matthew Lillard exist, it feels like a win.

The very real question, now: Does it make you better at D&D? Probably not. But it sure does make a lot of fun losing to a goblin ambush!
