Reactions are still pouring in after Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, received full pardons from the President. They’re off the hook for their tax evasion and bank fraud, and the latest person to weigh in is Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from Jersey Shore.
Similarly to the Chrisleys, Mike was found guilty of tax evasion. He served an eight-month prison sentence back in 2019 and had to pay over $100,000 in restitution. In comparison, the Chrisleys got off easy, but The Situation isn’t worried about them. He’s focused on his own life.
Mike Sorrentino has no hard feelings about Todd and Julie Chrisley’s prison release
The Situation recently spoke to TMZ while promoting Season 8 of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, and they asked him to weigh in on the Chrisley family pardon. He said he could definitely relate to what they’re going through, but he’s not “mad” that they got a Get Out of Jail Free card. He said that sitting in prison for his tax issues made him a “better man.”
“I think there’s a lot of angles or aspects to this, and I can definitely relate to some of this story as I spent eight months in [prison] for tax evasion,” Mike explained. “I also got two years of probation, I got 500 hours of community service, and I have completed everything, including restitution.”
On the other hand, the Chrisleys will not have to do any of that. The pardon they received from Trump essentially erased their criminal convictions, leaving them off the hook for restitution. But Mike isn’t jealous of them. He said this is “good for the families.”
Mike explained, “I have served my time … and I see someone else that got a full unconditional pardon … you gotta stay in your own lane and run your own race – I am happy for the family.”
Jersey Shore Family Vacation airs on MTV every Thursday at 8/7c.
