Netflix’s new gritty crime series, Mercy for None, with a John Wick-like premise, tops the global streaming charts one week after its release. The K-drama, created by Choi Sung-eun and Yoo Ki-seong, stars So Ji-sub as a former mob boss, Nam Gi-jun, who comes out of retirement to avenge his murdered brother and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. The seven-episode action noir series based on the popular webtoon Plaza Wars: Mercy for None debuted at no.2 last week.
According to Netflix, the new K-drama has become the no.1 non-English show on the streamer’s global streaming chart, replacing Sara – Woman in the Shadows from last week. The limited series is followed by Cocaine Air: Smugglers at 30,000 Ft: Limited Series in second place and Tastefully Yours in third.
More to come…
