PlayStation State Of Play June 2025 Live Updates

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

5:46PM They’re showing a Marvel fighting game fully dubbed in Japanese. Marvel vs Arc System Works?

5:45PM – Well, I guess not. Just the promise of a gameplay deep dive in July for Yotei.

5:44PM Ghost of Yotei is on-screen now. Hopefully we’ll see a good bit of gameplay footage now rather than another trailer that focuses on the cinematic storytelling (no complaints there, it’s just time to get a little more).

First Light 007 releases in 2026

IOI’s new James Bond game reveals a release date and promises more gameplay footage soon.

5:40PM – I’m very excited for the new Bond game – getting the Hitman makers on James Bond feels like an Indiana Jones and the Great Circle-style recipe for success. We’ve gone from almost no information about the game to a big cinematic reveal here, showcasing the relatively youthful look of the new take on 007.

5:40PM – IOI James Bond time!

5:39PM – We’re cooling down a bit as we talk about some classic game additions to the Catalog. A lull before we probably hit a big final reveal (or several).

5:38PM Sword of the Sea, out on August 19 in the PlayStation Plus game catalog.

5:36PM – The update – 2026 release window. Now onto a new game from the Journey/Flower creators.

5:34PM – Next up is Sea of Remnants, a somewhat piratical game that we already knew about. It’s got a nice art style. Hopefully we’ll get a release update.

5:33PM Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow was followed by a new game called Tides of Tomorrow. An Astro Bot interlude is revealing some new challenges, characters, and the return of a themed controller.

5:31PM – It’s a State of Play, so of course we have to have a VR game or two. This time, the Thief series is hitting PSVR2.

UPDATE: 2025/06/04 17:29 EST

Koei Tecmo has revealed Nioh 3 for early 2026.

5:28PM – Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja are now showcasing some stylish action. Nioh 3?

5:26PM – We’re onto footage from Metal Gear Solid: Delta Snake Eater now. It looks like what we’ve seen before – Snake Eater in a very Unreal Engine 5 style. If you’re all about realistic detail, this should be right up your alley, although I mourn the original look of the game a bit.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection revealed

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection, an anthology of the classic bloody fighting games, is coming this year.

5:24PM – Digital Eclipse is showcasing a Mortal Kombat collection, which might feature the museum-like nature of Atari 50.

5:23PM – Climbing games seem to be in these days, and the next up is Cairn, releasing November 5. Demo today.

5:22PM Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots follows it up with a September 4 release date. We’re getting lots of games very quickly right now. The Ninja Gaiden 2D game Ragebound is up next, arriving on July 31.

5:21PM – And Hirogami, an origami-style game coming on September 3 from Namco Singapore.

5:20PM – Bennett Foddy’s new game Baby Steps is on-screen. If you’re a big fan of Getting Over It (I’m not especially), look out for the September 8 release.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles revealed

A Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is coming on September 30, with classic and enhanced options in-game.

5:18PM Final Fantasy Tactics! A remaster is on its way.

5:17PM Bloodstained is followed by footage of Digimon Story: Time Stranger, which is nothing new, but it looks a lot more ambitious than many previous Digimon games. It’s coming on October 3.

UPDATE: 2025/06/04 17:16 EST

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement revealed

A new Bloodstained game is coming next year.

5:15PM – Plenty of gameplay footage for a new Bloodstained game.

UPDATE: 2025/06/04 17:13 EST

Silent Hill F Release Date Confirmed

Silent Hill f is releasing on September 25, 2025. Pre-orders are open.

5:11PM – The atmosphere of the new Silent Hill game continues to look great, which is the main thing to get right. It looks like it’s handling the setting shake-up just fine.

5:11PM – Anything from Suda51 is bound to be interesting, so I’m on board for Romeo is a Dead Man. After a brief message from Suda, we’ve moved onto footage from Silent Hill f, which takes the series to a rural Japanese setting.

UPDATE: 2025/06/04 17:09 EST

Romeo is a Dead Man revealed.

A new game from No More Heroes director Suda51 called Romeo is a Dead Man has been revealed.

Capcom’s Pragmata is releasing in 2026

Previously indefinitely delayed, Pragmata confirms a 2026 release window.

5:05PM – Capcom’s Pragmata is on-screen now. Sci-fi story with the usual themes about AI and robots.

5:02PM – The first game showcased here is Lumines: Arise, coming in the fall. The puzzle game series looks more stylized than ever, invoking something similar to Tetris Effect.

5:01PM – State of Play is live!

4:30PM, Ben – We’re tuning in for June 2025 State of Play event, which will provide a look at PlayStation’s upcoming slate of releases starting at 5PM ET. Sony is still playing coy about what games might appear at the showcase, but there’s a chance that some heavy-hitters like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy could make appearances. You can follow along with the video below, and I’ll be providing updates and commentary for all the key reveals as I live-blog throughout.
