Porsha Williams revealed during Season 16 of Real Housewives of Atlanta that there was a tragic death in her family. Londie Favors, Porsha’s cousin, was shown this season helping with the Pampered by Porsha event. Her sudden and unexpected passing deeply affected both Porsha and her sister, Lauren Williams.
Porsha’s cousin Londie died on the phone to her sister Lauren
During a recent episode of RHOA, Porsha shared some details about Londie’s shocking passing. Porsha and Lauren were visiting with Phaedra Parks, who was helping with the funeral arrangements.
“I’m just numb. We’re like sisters,” Lauren told Phaedra. “We grew up … we were babies together.” Porsha stated, “So you know they were on the phone.” That is so heartbreaking, and must have been so difficult for Lauren.
“She actually transitioned while you were on the phone?” Phaedra asked Lauren, and Lauren replied, “Yeah.” I can’t imagine suddenly losing a family member in that way.
Meanwhile, Porsha explained in her confessional, “I was at work and I got some news that Londie was in distress, and within an hour or two, we had lost Londie. She was just the most giving person you could ever think of.”
Londie was beloved by her family. “Dealing with he loss of my cousin Londie … I’m going through a lot emotionally while being there for my family. She meant so much to all of us.” Porsha said in another confessional. “So it’s pretty difficult.”
Besides working with Porsha, Londie was also active with their grandfather’s foundation, Hosea Helps. In addition, Londie appeared on Porsha’s spinoff, titled Porsha’s Family Matters.
As they made the arrangements for Londie’s services, Porsha stated, “God has given us strength because He knows that her mom and sister wouldn’t be able to do all this right now.” At the end of Episode 17 of RHOA, a title card read, “In Loving Memory. Yolanda “Londie” Favors. 1989-2024.” Rest in peace, Londie.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 reunion begins on Sunday, July 13 at 8/7c on Bravo. It airs on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
