The Valley Season 2 Episode 11 Recap: El Coyote Ugly

Welcome to the recap for The Valley Season 2 Episode 11. Last episode, Danny still couldn’t catch a break with the Capernas and finally blew up. Even Nia got herself involved. This week, fans will watch as Luke finalizes his plans for a surprise proposal. However, Janet, Michelle, and Nia all have a falling out while attending a girls’ night. And Jesse finally puts his theories to the test as he confronts Aaron and the infamous timeline. So here’s exactly what happened in The Valley Season 2, Episode 10: “El Coyote Ugly.”

The great thing about The Valley is that it is a sense of home. It’s that nostalgia feeling you can’t get enough of. The perfect example is watching Kristen explain that she never thought she’d raise kids in Los Angeles, but she’s been living in the city now for 20 years. Time flies when you’re in La La Land. Amidst the drama, it’s adorable to watch Luke, Zack, and the Bookos plan the Hawaii trip where Kristen will be proposed to. I don’t know, something about this all proposal feels like I’m watching my good friend’s big moment. I have the butterflies and want to cry! Thankfully, Detective Doute is not on the case.

What happens in the men’s group stays in the men’s group

I can’t with these men. While I love watching Jesse and his multiverse, he is in deep with his life coach. The father of one planned a playdate with the rest of the guys because, and I quote, “Only men can really understand what other men are going through.” The struggle is real, but Jesse seems to think the guys will be able to hash it out. Here’s hoping. Alas, it got weird real quick. First was the semi-circle of hugs, followed by life coach Scott’s pep talk. I immediately got the ick as the men also wore backwards baseball caps. It was like watching the adult version of The Sandlot. Not to make it about himself but to absolutely make it about himself, Jax shares he won’t be going on the group trip.

He claims it is because he wants to spend time with Cruz, but is he even allowed in the state of stealing sunglasses last time he was there? Life coach Scott then talks about how men carry resentment in the form of a list. He explained that a man had to call upon another man to clear the list by placing their hand on their heart. Honestly, I resent I had to watch this scene. I’ll never get that minute and a half back. However, during the conversation, Danny admitted that he sometimes hides his drinking. It was hard to tell if he was placating the group or agreed with the assessment. “Anytime someone is coming after my character, it doesn’t sit well with me,” noted Danny.

Girls night out wasn’t so much fun

Even Taco Tuesday couldn’t pull these ladies out of a fight. Janet and Nia both faced off while sitting across the table. And I am thrilled Nia is finding her voice. Nia is clocking issues left and right and quickly points out that while Janet is so quick to judge others, she never hears about Janet’s own marriage. It’s very telling. As the chicken fajitas sizzle, so does the tension with Michelle, who calls out Kristen for talking about her boyfriend, Aaron. Bless Kristen, who is so oblivious that she just goes about reapplying her lip gloss. Sadly, Michelle’s anger is misplaced since Kristen wasn’t the problem. In fact, it was Zack who spilled the beans on Aaron’s escapades to Jesse.

The devil took hold of Janet as she yelled to Kristen about being accountable. But isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? I can’t stomach Janet, and it seems everyone wants that fun friend back. But instead, they have to deal with Jealous Janet. And she’s no fun. Nia started to cry due to the intensity of the situation. And I get it. It’s a lot. But Janet hits low, noting, “It’s always tears when it’s intense.” She is one heck of a mean girl.

A field day of frustrations

I love that this group had a throwback field day from the ’90s. But Michelle is less than impressed that Jenna, aka Aaron’s ex and resident pot stirrer, is a referee. The wind didn’t stand a chance with these neon wind breakers. But the day goes well for the most part. Brittany ignored Jax, and Nia ignored Janet.

No one questions the timeline

Finally, the tropical paradise is upon the cast. And all is well for a few minutes. Aaron learned that putting a pineapple on his hotel door means he is into swinging. Everything is perfect. Until the stormy weather blows on in. Jesse is less than impressed with Aaron, whom he feels was the man Michelle cheated on him with. You can see the cogs turning as Kristen’s voice plays on repeat, “She had a f*cking boyfriend for a year.” The time has come for Jesse to call out Aaron. During an intimate chat, he bluntly asked, “Did you or did you not cross a line when I was married to Michelle? Emotional. Physical. In any way did you cross a line?” The wide-eyed response screamed volumes.

The Valley airs at 8 PM/EST each Tuesday on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
