Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Ginny & Georgia season 3, episode 10, “Monsters.”
The final moments of Ginny & Georgia season 3 deliver a shocking twist after Georgia is deemed innocent of killing Cynthia’s husband, Tom: that she’s pregnant. On the heels of Georgia’s long and arduous murder trial in season 3, this revelation comes as a shock — one that perfectly sets the stage for season 4. Ginny & Georgia season 3’s ending doesn’t spend much time dwelling on it, however. Its final scene concludes with Georgia drinking milk directly from the carton, something she only does when she’s pregnant. Viewers don’t get much more information than that.
This leaves us to wonder who the father of Georgia’s child is, and there are two possible answers to that question: Joe or Paul. During an interview with ScreenRant‘s Tatiana Hullender, series creator Sarah Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski revealed whether they knew which of Georgia’s love interests was the father while writing season 3’s last scene. They admitted that they approached the twist with a plan in place but challenged the writers to come up with a better one:
“What I’ll say about that is my favorite thing about this writing team is that all of our writers are returning writers. They know this world really well. They’re so talented, and they know these characters. Glinski and I entered the writer’s room this season and said, ‘We know who the dad is. We know whose baby it is. Change our mind.’ And then we spent a full day just debating whose baby this was, what the stories could be for each version, and had a really robust conversation.”
Although the writers seemingly made cases for both choices, Lampert noted that they “stuck with the original plan” in the end. “But we changed it for a day or two!” she added. And according to Lampert, this Ginny & Georgia season 3 twist has been years in the making:
“Ending season 3 that way was my plan back in season 1. That was always the way to end season 3. In season 2, I always knew it was going to be Georgia getting arrested during her first dance to Paul, and then putting the cop car to the song “Going to the Chapel,” because the show has a sense of humor. Even as the world is crumbling, it’s a little fun, right? Same thing with season 3. We always knew it was going to be the moment with the milk.”
Although the writers nearly changed their minds, Glinski noted that the debate process actually benefited season 3’s ending in the long run. She stated that it “made us more certain about our decision as to who the father should be, but also made that story way richer.” These insights don’t clarify whose baby Georgia will be carrying in Ginny & Georgia season 4, but they do suggest the show is headed in a promising direction.
What This Means For Ginny & Georgia Season 4
Thoughtful Planning Has Gone Into Georgia’s Next Big Storyline
These comments from Lampert and Glinski confirm that Ginny & Georgia season 4 is going in a positive direction, as a lot of thoughtful planning has gone into Georgia’s next big storyline. It’s obvious that the creative team isn’t just throwing things at the wall, since they’ve been building towards this revelation since season 1 And as Glinski noted, the conversations surrounding who the father should be took different factors into consideration, making it all the more likely they landed on the right choice.

Ginny & Georgia’s Biggest Character Complaints Miss The Point Of The Show
Those who watch Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia may find faults in the main characters, but that is exactly the point that many audience members miss.
That’s a relief, as Georgia’s relationships with Paul and Joe are incredibly complicated at the end of season 3 — albeit for very different reasons. Given how upsetting Georgia’s pregnancy lie and falling out with Paul was, the series would have to approach an actual pregnancy with a lot of care in season 4. Meanwhile, Joe being the father could be used to complicate his will-they, won’t-they romance with Georgia. That comes with its own challenges, so it’s good to know the writers are looking at all the angles.
Season 4 Looks Even More Exciting Now
Georgia’s murder trial may be over, but there are still many questions to be answered and storylines to address in season 4 — and it looks even more exciting now. Lampert’s and Glinski’s comments make the mystery surrounding Georgia’s pregnancy even more interesting, and they promise big but fitting story beats on the horizon. Hopefully, the wait for Ginny & Georgia season 4 won’t be too long. After season 3’s ending twist, viewers will be more eager than ever to get their hands on more episodes.
