Reacher star Alan Ritchson becomes Batman for James Gunn’s DC Universe through new The Brave and The Bold artwork. As DC Studios will be casting its own Batman for the DCU franchise, many are obviously curious to find out who will star as the Caped Crusader in Gunn’s superhero reboot.
While Andy Muschietti is set to direct The Brave and The Bold, the script is currently still being written, meaning DC Studios has not started the casting process just yet. With no release date set for The Brave and The Bold either, time will tell when fans will actually be getting the DCU’s Dark Knight.
Following Gunn’s recent DCU updates about The Brave and The Bold, Clements.Ink shared new art for a popular fan-casting for Batman, by imagining Ritchson as the next live-action version of the DC icon. The artwork sees Ritchson suited up as Batman, with a full black version of the costume. Check it out below:
Ritchson is no stranger to the superhero genre, as he portrayed Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, in the Smallville TV show for several seasons of the Superman drama. The Reacher lead also joined the Titans series, where he played the DC hero Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk.
What The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art Means For The DCU
When the role of Batman begins being cast for The Brave and The Bold movie, it’s no doubt going to be one of the most sought-after in Hollywood, even more so this time because of the DCU aspect of things. Whoever gets cast as the next Bruce Wayne would not just be in their own Batman film, but also appear in numerous DCU projects for years to come.
Given how Ritchson wants to be cast as Batman, it’s not a shock that more fans are raising their voices through fan-art pieces to see the action star be tapped for the role. That said, whether or not Ritchson will be the one to don the cape and cowl in The Brave and The Bold remains to be seen.
Our Take On The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art
Seeing how great Ritchson looks as Batman in the DCU artwork, it would be a shame if the former DC star didn’t at least get considered for The Brave and The Bold. As Ritchson has emerged more as a great action lead over the years – which is something that is needed for Batman – DC Studios should ideally at least have him in mind.
As DC Studios is actively working on both their Batman and Wonder Woman movies, they will have some of the biggest casting quests in the coming years. Hopefully, 2025 will be the year when The Brave and The Bold script is finally completed, so that casting for the next Dark Knight can finally begin.
