Jeremy Renner has made a steady return to acting following his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023, but Marvel fans are eager to know if the Avenger will ever pick up his bow and arrow again. He previously cast doubt over reprising his role as Clint Barton in the MCU after he candidly revealed that he had turned down a second season of the Disney+ series Hawkeye due to a salary dispute. However, the actor has now offered a more promising update that suggests he is open to returning to screens as the arrow-slinging archer once more.
Renner has made a considerable recovery from the horrific injuries he suffered while trying to save his nephew from being run over by a snowplow, but resulted in the actor being pulled under its tracks. He celebrated his second “rebirthday” after the incident at the start of the year, and he has now revealed a little more about the progress that he has made in the two years since. In a new interview with Empire, he hinted that he is ready to take on a more physically demanding role, having actively worked on regaining his strength and mobility.

Jeremy Renner says he saw the afterlife, and being brought back made him initially “pissed.”
“I’m always happy to be in that world, man,” Renner said of the MCU. “I love all those guys, I love the character.” His character famously headlined the Disney+ series Hawkeye as part of Phase Four of the MCU in 2021, but many had hoped that he would re-team with Hailee Steinfeld’s young Kate Bishop for a second season. The actor wants to assure fans that it is a possibility, as he has shown remarkable progress in his recovery from the traumatic event and now feels his “body’s getting ready” for something like an MCU return. He told the outlet:
“I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”
More to come…
