Jesse McCartney shared his gratitude for the unforgettable set with comedian Matt Rife on social media. The singer who heftily said with ‘Beautiful Soul’ shared a retrospective snapshot from the evening with such words: ‘Felt the love, heard the laughs, hit a few notes. Thanks for a special night @mattrife.’ The shot showed McCartney in full flow during the performance, elegantly dressed in an all-black suit, his energy radiating in front of the tour logo for Rife’s ‘Stay Golden Tour.’

The post was an immediate freeze-frame for fans and artists alike. Rife responded warmly, “You’re the man! Honored to have you bless the stage on such an incredible night!” Other voices chimed in, another stating, “Saw you last night at Lake Fest in LaPorte. You were absolutely phenomenal and I loved every second of your show!”

Those unfortunate enough not to have witnessed the event live kept on complaining. One user said, “Wish I could have been there.” Another joked, “Can you have a special night like this when he comes to Detroit in November too lol?”

The McCartney-Rife summit was a smash hit and even dubbed “the collab we didn’t know we needed” by a spectator. Another ardent fan put it simply, “I love u both sm,” confirming that their charisma transcended the stage.

For McCartney, this show was more than just a moment in the limelight, with the caption beaming with gratitude. The copious amount of supportive comments only reinforced just how deeply that first moment had affected those who were there and the ones wanting to be there.

Since the show, neither of them have uttered a word toward a reunion, but judging by all fanfare, it sure would be welcomed. For now, though, it is clear that all parties, McCartney, Rife, and fortunate audience members at that, will cherish the memories from that performance.

Some prompts given have opened up nostalgic roads to the older set of fans. One says to McCartney by an old nickname: “So proud of you Turtle!!” This reminds many of Hoodie Allen‘s earlier statements.

Whether it was music, comedy, or just an extremely happy hour of friendship, one thing is for sure: Jesse McCartney and Matt Rife produced a legendary night.

And judging from the comments, seems like it has to be done again, maybe in Detroit, with many hoping to catch the next performance or exclusive content.
