Next Gen NYC Episode 7 Recap: Shore Losers

Welcome to the recap for Next Gen NYC Episode 7. Last week, the group headed out to the Jersey Shore to celebrate Brooks’ birthday. They made a pact to confront Charlie about their grievances on night two, but that was quickly broken when Charlie and Georgia had a showdown over #speakergate. At dinner, all hell broke loose when half the group wanted to confront Charlie, while the other wanted to focus on celebrating Brooks. Even the magician who stopped by couldn’t make the drama disappear. Would everyone be able makeup and move on? Here’s exactly what went down in Next Gen NYC Episode 7: “Shore Losers.”

Charlie stayed out of the drama this week for once, while the rest of the group got into it instead. Riley and Georgia become besties, only to immediately lose their friendship when Riley dissed Georgia’s club idea. Emira also got into with Georgia when she reminded her to keep comments about others food to herself. Meanwhile, Ava avoided driving to the Jersey Shore for Brooks’ party at all costs.

Brooks’ birthday dinner was a disaster. But the Band-Aid was ripped off with Georgia and Charlie confronting each other, so everyone was finally able to party and have fun at the casino. Still, that didn’t mean the group’s issues with Charlie were resolved.

A tipsy Riley had a hilarious moment when she told Charlie she hated him – scratch that, didn’t like him – but still wanted his advice at the craps table. Then Hudson pulled Charlie aside to make sure he knew Ariana was off limits. Of course Charlie downplayed his comments about Ariana being hot. Hudson didn’t buy it, but Charlie got the message.

The next morning as Brooks zapped flies and monitored his shark tracker app, Riley called Georgia to check in on her. She was the only one who didn’t come back to the house and opted to get a high-roller room at the casino instead.

Riley and Georgia had officially done a 180 in their friendship. Nothing like bonding over your dislike for someone to bring people together. Georgia lamented to Riley that her boyfriend Omar was “Mr. Mute” at the dinner last night with the Ariana and Charlie drama. Riley quipped, “That’d be the last night he was my man.”

However, Riley did like the way Georgia handled herself. She said, “But I am proud of you sticking up for yourself. Because I feel like that’s the only time, no offense, that I’ve seen you have a real backbone.” Riley noted in her confessional it was weird that “everyone forgot Charlie said he would slap Georgia if she was a guy.”

Thankfully, Omar did not forget. He told Georgia a conversation with Charlie was definitely in order. He just had to find the right suit first.

It wouldn’t be a trip to the Jersey Shore without some water sports. And for this group, that meant going out on a pontoon boat and watching others do them. While Brooks thought he was safely paddling in shark-free waters, Riley met up with Georgia at her cabana instead.

Georgia wanted some intel on Ariana and Emira and if they were still mad at her. Riley predicted everyone was super chill. But … she was wrong.

Back on the boat, Emira said Georgia had criticized her for eating burgers when they were going to go out to dinner later. She added Georgia also made a comment about her Ozempic wearing off. Oh naur… Emira complained, “That is the most classless thing, to comment on what someone is eating … That’s like something you learn in the third f*cking grade”

Meanwhile, Charlie can’t go one episode without being a d*ck to someone. And this time the lucky winner was Brooks. It all started when Charlie asked Gia’s boyfriend, Christian, how old he was. Charlie crossed his fingers, hoping for him to say 30 so he wasn’t the only elder in the group. Alas, he was 23.

When Charlie said his age, Christian wondered why he wasn’t married with kids yet. Dead. Charlie claimed marriage wasn’t for him and then quickly pivoted to Brooks. Brooks was more than ready to marry his man and have kids. But then Charlie decided to “joke” about whose sperm would be used for the baby and how that would work. Sigh.

Then Riley and Georgia walked down the dock, with Georgia still in her casino robe and slippers. As Riley tripped and dropped her phone into the bay, Charlie said, “I’m going home, bro.”

Ava continued to avoid the Jersey Shore like the plague

However, Charlie had a change of heart once Riley put a $1000 bounty on her phone. He jumped right in to retrieve it. Riley observed, “If this dude is diving into the water for $1000, I know me nor Hudson are getting our money back.” Georgia also jumped in, only for Riley to then pull out her second phone she keeps on standby.

Back in the city, Ava had a manicure, hung out with her dad, and claimed she couldn’t make Brooks’ party because she had to be in the Hamptons for work. And Charlie was tracking her and knew she still wasn’t in the Hamptons. Ava thought Brooks was fine with it, but was he?

Later on, the group put on their best Jersey Shore-themed outfits. Ariana decided now was the time to apologize for going off on Georgia the other night. Georgia accepted and also apologized for whispering at the table. She said about Ariana, “She’s not jaded like everyone else from New York. She’s, like, sweet and optimistic. And I’m just not used to that. Yeah, I’m not going to break her. New York will do that.” Geez.

Georgia then made Brooks’ dinner about herself when she wanted everyone to be a focus group for her future bowling alley-themed nightclub. Everyone’s jaws dropped as she rambled on about a dance floor next to an ice cream machine.

Emira piped in, “If you plan to serve food there, I would just not comment on what your patrons are eating. Ever.” The gauntlet was thrown! Georgia didn’t recall her hatred of burgers or mozzy sticks, but she did apologize. And then continued to talk about banana splits.

Riley then stepped into it when she said, “As your friend … this is a terrible idea.”

Welp, that friendship was short-lived. Riley’s comment not only stirred it up with Georgia but Gia too. Gia told Riley, “Don’t be nasty.” She added, ”I think when you get a little tipsy, you get a little rough.”

Riley ran off upset and told Shai that Gia always has an issue with her. While Shai worked his magic making Riley laugh, Ariana told Gia to stand down. In her confessional, Ariana said, “Gia is my girl. But sometimes, it’s like, ‘Ok, shut the f*ck up, Gia’ … Like everyone’s drinking. How’s your glass of wine, Gia?”

Shai got Riley to come back, but she wasn’t happy. She said, “I’m definitely confused as to why this message is coming from Gia … for her to be able to say things she does and me not to be able to, I just feel there’s a big double standard.”

Back inside, Riley apologized to Georgia again. However, Shai stirred things up when he said, “We’ve been dissecting the most privileged argument.” This set Georgia off wondering how she was privileged, and Riley explained having her boyfriend invest in her club was privilege.

Then Ariana jumped in when things escalated and Riley called Georgia a dumb b*tch. As Ariana hugged Georgia, Riley was hurt. She said, “I thought Ariana would have my back. I just don’t understand, like, what’s going on, cause I thought Ariana and Georgia weren’t cool.”

There’s a big mess to clean up within the group, and we’ll see how it’s all resolved, or not, during the season finale next week!

Next Gen NYC continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
