The legal wrangle against Shannon Sharpe was finally over and done with, but it did provide great gossip fodder. A former NFL star and present sports analyst, Sharpe’s $50 million lawsuit with Gabriella Zuniga was settled out of court, with the latter allegedly getting about $20 million and calling it quits with OnlyFans. The Internet did its talking, and boy did it talk.

Over months of headlines, the case originated from the allegations of Sharpe’s somewhat shady behavior in dealing with the much younger woman who had just gained notoriety for her OnlyFans pages. While the exact details of the settlement are private, reactions ranged from disbelief to outright mockery stemming from the outcome.
One user stated it plainly, “Went through a whole entire NFL career and NEVER got fleeced. But this 22-year-old fleeced you well after retirement.” Another one replied, “That’s what he gets,” indicating Sharpe should have seen it from a thousand miles away. The general consensus? A good amount of secondhand embarrassment and frustration that someone like Sharpe, with all of his experience, could get into this.
An unfiltered Claudia Jordan from Dish Nation called it a “rookie mistake,” and the panel quickly agreed, with one of them stating, “He’s not smart at all.” Others, however, objected to Jordan’s tack, saying that her criticisms of Black men were uncalled for. “She’s still looking for that fame that keeps running,” said one dissenter, dismissing her commentary as self-interested ignorance.
The orbiting of conversations has revived the dialogue about the insidious nature of fame and fortune, especially where romance is concerned. “Once they become rich and famous, they love going for the okey-doke and giving their money away to them other people,” opined a witness, echoing the sentiments oft repeated in celebrity scandals.
Then, the hilarity began. One user commented, “Katt Williams tried to tell him,” side-eyeing the comedian’s absurd rants about fame. Another user joked about the absurdity of these happenings: “Lmao retiring a 19-year-old white OnlyFans model is wilddddd.”
However, the most telling of responses was one that treated this all as yet another normal day for the rich and famous. “We ALL KNOW Shannon has learned NOTHING from this experience,” wrote one person with a heavy accusation. “We can just sense it.”

Whether or not Sharpe goes in hard or brushes it off as just another blip, one thing is for sure: this cannot be allowed to fade into the sunset any time soon. With Zuniga, rumors say she’s taking off enough money to never have to log into OnlyFans ever again. Fair enough, would-be spectator?
