Trey Songz Drops ‘Lit Again’ Video And The Reactions Are All Over The Place

To many viewers, Trey Songz‘s release of the ‘Lit Again’ music video can be said to be a million-dollar topic in itself. The R&B heartthrob created a buzz about the visual on Instagram, posting for a few seconds, “Y’all seen the Lit Again video yet? Link in bio!!” Immediately, the comment section erupted like a debate club meeting. One side is living for this new era, whilst the other class is side-eyeing this whole vibe. And the Ray J feature? Heck, that was enough to generate gossips for a small city!

In the video, Trey is busy being Trey, gorgeous as ever, pouring drinks, and justifying the kind of energy present. Lyrics such as, “We drunk, cutting up a couple bottles,” and, “Take me home now I know I’m just on the pole,” scream irresponsible fun and unstoppable party anthems, visualized by a neon-lit backdrop, tons of slow-motion shots, and coolness dripping from Trey, which he has been doing ever since 2005 from ‘I Gotta Make It.’

Some other vibe. One commenter basically threw in a rude review: “Nahhhhh this ain’t it. This not yo type of flow Trey please don’t piss me off 😒😒😒🤌🏾,” and…ouch. What transpired afterward became ugly, with one clapping back, “Sound like a hater,” while another did the hair bob: “I didn’t see anything what video,” as if they had accidentally muted the phone. The defense retorted with: “Damn let my baby switch it up. Nobody stays in the game to stay the same. 😍,” which I mean, fair point.

Ray J comes next. One said, “Would a been better without Ray J tbh…” and then the responses were divided between “my thoughts exactly” and “lol his part was so minimal to even make a difference so…” Someone was scandalized: “Trey hurtin’ if he has a song with Ray J?? Smh…I’m shook.” Someone else brought up Bow-Wow collabs in the same breath as if it’s the same thing, and now I’m picturing a 2007 time capsule explosion.

But can we get the hype? Comments such as “This video is already on repeat cause Trigga is back 😍😍” and “ONLY BIG DOGS , NEVER F%# WITH THE STRAYS‼️ we glad yall love the video ❤️❤️” surely show that the core audience of Trey is still in. Even one fan gave a shout-out to Feather’s verse: “Feathers verse was really really good…trey we all know what u can do..this shit is lit 🔥,” and I concur wholeheartedly.

Regarding the mixtape southside from TWO SAV-B, the Wildest opinion might have been “Wasn’t that girl on basketball wives lol embarrassing” because…who? Where? What scene? Investigative journalism ASAP. “Ray j funny asl 😂 🔥🔥🔥🔥” is the least serious review but somehow does fit the chaotic-energy below this entire rollout.

Somehow, whether it’s a love affair or a question of life choices, Trey is getting people to talk. That’s what the game is about. He’s been more-or-less from the era of MySpace being something, so he most definitely knows how to pivot and evolve while still keeping his core. At least it’s trending, which is half the battle in 2024. Now excuse me while I re-watch that pole scene again for… research purposes.
