If you’ve been keeping up with the ever-twisting saga of Kim Zolciak and her family, then Ariana Biermann’s latest appearances on Next Gen NYC likely didn’t catch you off guard. She definitely got people talking… Once known as the bubbly, fashion-forward daughter on Don’t Be Tardy, Ariana is now stepping into her own spotlight. And she’s not shying away from speaking her truth. With family tensions mounting and money rumors swirling, Ariana’s relationship with her mom, Kim, is under more scrutiny than ever.
Next Gen NYC’s Ariana gives update on mom stealing money
In recent months, Ariana has made headlines not just for her reality show debut but for her pointed comments about her family, especially her mother. Fans of the Zolciak-Biermann clan remember the picture-perfect image Kim projected: a tight-knit family, luxury living, and Kashmere dreams. But behind the Instagram filters and Bravo reruns, things have become increasingly complicated. Bravo viewers were shocked to learn from Ariana that Kim had taken and spent a lot of her daughter’s money. But it turns out it wasn’t just Kim who dipped into Ariana’s bank account. While on Watch What Happens Live, the reality star explained her comment from the Next Gen NYC premiere.
“I would like to very much clarify: Everybody wants this to be just my mother. This was a joint partnership in taking the money. I gave my parents, though, a notice that I’m going to be telling the truth, my truth, and my story. And this is what’s happened. It was both of them,” noted Ariana. The fashion designer then added she is unsure of the amount both her parents took from her, but explained Kim only asks for money “if it’s regarding the bills or it’s something she needs for the kids.”
Ariana has a strained relationship with Kroy Biermann due to anger
The drama first started bubbling up in 2023, when reports of Kim and husband Kroy Biermann’s financial troubles began dominating tabloid headlines. Over the course of the year, the couple filed for divorce, reconciled, and then refiled—thrice. Meanwhile, Ariana and her sister Brielle Biermann began quietly distancing themselves from the chaos. Ariana, in particular, seemed determined to draw boundaries, and her debut on Next Gen NYC gave her the platform to do just that. Sadly, she still has a very strained relationship with her father. While on WWHL, she explained that her relationship with Kroy “goes in waves.”
She added, “It depends on what motion he’s filing throughout this insane divorce this week. But he’ll always be my dad no matter what.” She stated, “I think that it’s just a tough situation right now because I think a lot of these things are just coming from more anger and nothing else.” Ariana is keeping herself grounded as she added, “I think that, you know, nobody wants to be put in situations that they are put into, and my mom, no matter what, will be my best friend forever. Money should never ruin a relationship with your family. You can always make more money, and God blesses us in that way, and I have my mom, and that’s all that matters.”
Ariana Biermann’s parents stole from Brielle Biermann too
Their life now is a far cry from the family dynamic fans saw on Don’t Be Tardy, where Kim often referred to Ariana as her “mini-me,” and the two appeared inseparable. Ariana was frequently praised for her loyalty, especially during Kim’s public feuds or when critics came after the family’s lifestyle. But as Ariana enters adulthood and starts carving her own identity, it’s clear she’s not afraid to call things as she sees them, even if it means exposing cracks in the glitzy Zolciak-Biermann façade.
Fans will recall that Ariana opened up about her financial issues. During her new show, she told viewers, “I was doing like three posts a week and you get paid astronomical to do a story or to do an Instagram post, and I made quite a bit of money. But, unfortunately, my parents took my money.” Ariana discovered two years ago that both her parents had taken money from her account and Brielle’s. She added, “I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period. Nobody was honest, there was no transparency, and I have no idea where it actually went.”
Next Gen NYC streams on Peacock and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
