Freezer Prep Tips

  • Use freezer bags when you can. Lay them flat to save space, then stand them upright once frozen for easy “meal filing” in the freezer.
  • Label everything. Write the recipe name, date, and cooking instructions right on the bag so you don’t have to dig around later trying to remember what’s inside. (Click HERE for the ebook that includes labels!)
  • Freeze in portions. If you don’t need a full family-sized meal every time, divide into two smaller bags when you freeze them. That way you only thaw what you need.

Leftover Storage Tips

  • Fridge storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
  • Freezer storage: Most of these meals can also be frozen again after cooking. Let leftovers cool completely, then store in freezer-safe containers for up to 2 months.
  • Reviving leftovers: Add a splash of chicken broth, beef broth, or even water when reheating to freshen things up and keep the meat tender.
  • Portion control: I love freezing leftovers in single-serve containers for easy lunches later. They make a great grab-and-go option on busy days.
  • Toppings are your friend: Fresh toppings like cheese, herbs, green onions, or sour cream bring leftovers back to life and make them feel brand new.

Side Dishes to Go with Your Meals
