Belinda’s latest enterprise is meant to revive the glitz and glamour of the 80s. The singers-actress duo just revealed their collaboration with Mariana Treviño for ‘Mentiras All Stars,’ a musical reckoning of the iconic moments of ‘Mentiras el Musical’ and ‘Mentidrags,’ the original TV series on Prime Video. The promotional poster for the event already set fire to social media, with the fans abuzz for the retro aesthetic and the power duo.

The poster serves as an 80s-inspired throwback to the days when Belinda and Trevino were in all their finery. Mariana donned a zebra-print top and sported massive blonde hair, whereas Belinda was radiant in a magenta-yellow outfit with so much volume to her bouncy curls. The backdrop embraced a neon fail, blaze with pink and purple colors almost bruised with grunge from blood smeared against vinyl records and distressed cassettes, all giving away the vibes of Disco Brand. The occasion will take place sometime in October at Centro Cultural Teatro 1 with the sponsorship of Banamex and Amazon Prime.
Instant excitement filled many social media posts. One of the comments said, “I already got my front-row seats,” while the others lamented that the show should tour outside Mexico City. “Do a full tour with the whole cast and fill the Auditorio Nacional!” was one comment that received several responses agreeing with it. “Come to Guadalajara and play at Telmex!” replied another. Demand for such lovely nostalgia to invest in making money is really huge.
However, not all concurred with the celebrations. A few fiercely passionate fans used this as an opportune moment to remind Belinda about her other project, ‘Indómita.’ One fan begged, “Don’t leave ‘Indómita’ behind; it deserves more promotion and at least a small tour!” This sparked a small debate where some were saying that ‘Mentiras’ was the bigger show while others contended theirs was equally important for Belinda’s solo album. “Her album has more streams on Spotify than ‘Mentiras,’” was a reply.
No international fan kept their enthusiasm in the closet. One demanded: “Come to Argentina! We NEED the ‘Indómita Tour’ here!” Another from Monterrey said, “If you come to Arena Monterrey, you’ll sell it out,” hyping up believers. One skeptic said, quite frankly, “She’s never doing an ‘Indómita’ tour,” to mixed replies.
There were also less positive comments left. One particularly complained that the ticket prices were quite steep and jokingly said that it was almost worth a flight to Colombia. Nonetheless, it seems most would gladly grab this opportunity to spend a night drenched with 80s magic.
Maybe it’s the vintage fashion, promise of kick-ass performances, or simply wings for Belinda and Treviño to share the stage; there may be a claim that ‘Mentiras All Stars’ will be one of the most sought-after events of the season. The fan reactions right now indicate that won’t be its only mention, with talks about tour extensions already beginning.

For now, it’s exclusive to Mexico City, but with this much buzz, it won’t be long before other cities start partying. Or at least cause an uproar, which is always a conversation starter, about whether Belinda’s ‘Indómita’ or ‘Mentiras’ should be next in the spotlight.
